Thanks for helping out a newby. :smile1: Luxury brands are an entirely different story, Brands like Hiro Honma, Majesty, Access, etc.. there are very few true Honma " in the know" kinda people. The type of honma that TSG'ers would play is their Tour World stuff. There is tour issue honma small topline no offset irons. some even come with X100's but to find someone who sells these is hard. The LB's are older models, I don't really understand how Honma series clubs work :-D kinda confusing and now they supposedly have the shafts from heaven called ARMARQ and that too even comes in stars :money: here is the newest from Honma: Twin Marks MG460 (body) 6AL(s)-4V titanium (face) DAT55G+ titanium face Head volume 460cc ARMRQ 851 loft (degree) 9 & 10 C.O.R.0.86 0.86 center-of-gravity distance (mm) 41 42 center-of-gravity quantity (mm) 37.0 37.5 effective RBI distance (mm) and here is the latest Irons, it is a combo set kinda. very :cool:
December 14, 200420 yr Very nice, Chris! Honma has changed direction a bit since I first found out about them ten years ago. Heads seem to be designed to match certain preferences, ie accomplished players, intermediates and magic-seekers. The status of the line seems to be more tied to the shafts than the heads. The higher the number of stars on the shaft, the more prestigious the club. Many decorative touches adorn the 4 and 5 star shafted irons and woods, 18 or 24 karat gold hosel rings and medallions are the norm. The five star heads are too much, they're literally jewelry. The new Tour World stuff looks very interesting but slightly behind the curve, now spearheaded by the industry giants and other more focused Japanese clubmakers.
