freddiec
Has anybody had experience comparing these 2 clubs. I've hit the new 32's a bunch of times in doors and really liked them. I'm debating on whether to go with the 32's or the 33's. I've always liked the 33s. My index is a 5.0 and my ss with a 5 iron is about 86-88mph. I want to buy blades this year and would like to hear from people who really know the 2 models and what they like and dislike about the 2, or what the difference they think is. I honestly am thinking that both are great, but to me the 33's seem more solid and I seem to swing them better. Thanks :spit:
David
I have not hit them side by side but have owned both. For ME, the 32s are so much better in all phases. They are more solid, better feel and more forgiving. The 32s have a lower ballflight than the 33s but in my opinion the 33s hit too high. bjp1
I picked up a used MP-33 5i at the end of the season, thinking that I would use this club to better my ballstriking in the off-season. I put it in play a few rounds, and found that it provides the ideal (high) trajectory for me. I then demoed the MP-32 for a few rounds to compare. MP-33 - best feeling forged club that I've hit, high trajectory, less forgiving MP-32 - mid-high trajectory, more forgiving, more solid/controlled feel, slightly more confident at address due to thicker topline I ordered a custom set of MP-32, Rifle 5.5 (higher trajectory), painted alignment aid on the clubface (alignment/confidence). Just got them today, but haven't taken them to the range yet. Both clubs are winners, but most lower handicappers seem to chime in that the trajectory of the MP-33 is higher than desireable. These would have been my blade of choice if they were slightly less punishing than the 32's. Good luck. bp
torrejuan
The one thing I noticed was when I hit the six iron demo, the ball went on a piercing trajectory compaired to my 962's which I love. Needless to say, I will be ordering a set this spring.
MGB
The higher ball flight of the 33's is due to the 1* weaker loft than the 37 or 32. If you already have a set of 33's you could lower the ball flight a bit by strengthening the lofts a degree. Just came back from a range session w Mizuno dealer here. Hit everything he had. I must say that I'm very impressed w the 32's.
freddiec
great feedback all. thanks, thats what I was looking for. MGB- what is your handicapp and what are U using now. I hit the mp32's again yesterday at a dealers shop, he has a great bunch of demo's with all type of lies , shaft, ect and I really am impressed with the 32's as well. I think I may be gettn them soon.
tincup975
It was my understanding that the MP-32's were supposed to produce a higher trajectory than anything that Mizuno had released in the player market. Maybe I misunderstood this but I know that they hit the ball a lot higher than my 690MB irons do that is for sure.....
