t_crane78
What new equipment was in use at this weeks Mercedes Championship? Greg Norman has gone to MacGregor, using the new driver and MacGregor Irons. Not sure about FW, wedges, and putter.

rhssgolfstar
Appleby is using new Bridgestone equipment :bridgestone: . In his bag are the J33P driver, J33 irons, Airmuscle 2 iron/hybrid, and B330 ball. His 3 wood was some sort of Tourstage/Precept prototype and he's still got a Yes! Tracy II. Vijay has the 460 Comp, and what loked to be Comp fairway in some pics  . He also put Black Pearl CG1's in play this week and is continuing to us a Never Compromise Milled putter. Sergio reportedley put a whole new bag in play this week without ever hitting a shot with the clubs. He was playing the '05 RAC TP irons and a center shaft Rossa putter, plus he had some new shoes called the Tour Metal. Jonathan Kaye had the new Cleveland CG2 irons in play which are to replace the current TA2's. He was putting with a Ping Craze with a plumbers neck hosel and had a Sonartec FW. Not 100% positive but I think 460 Comp for his driver. Ernie went back to the 983K after testing one of the 905's in 2004 but he did have a 904F 3 wood in play. Chad Campbell has no club sponsor at the moment so he was playing with some Ping i3+ Blades :surprize: . Craig Parry has put the new Callaway X-Tours in his bag. Cink had the same Nike CB Protos that he played last year along with a Ignite driver, Titleist 975F FW, and a Nike OZ center shaft belly putter. rhssgolfstar
Oh, and a couple more things. David Toms was using a 905T and Todd Hamilton had an r7 HT/Shallow in play.

vokester
i believe singh is still using his ta1s, whic are out of production, but for marketing purposes has them stamped with a cg1 stamp. his new contract also says he must have 13 cleveland clubs, so, they made him that comp with the same weight configuration of the r7 he was using. so his only non cleveland is the steelhead 3 nine wood. he will probably staying with the never comp., becuse they are owned by cleveland

I wouldn't give them up any time soon after winning $10 mil the year before  . He hates to hook the ball, so his new Comp needs to be weighted in the toe. I think I remember hearing that his milled NC was made as a copy to his Bettinardi MC-3  , not too certain on that though.

That interesting that you both mention that he was carrying a COMP Cleveland, because when I was watching Saturdays round, I know for sure that he had an R& Headcover in this bag, and all the times I saw him tee off with the driver, it looked to be an R7, but I could be wrong. golfgeorge6
He never had a R7 headcover and has been using the COMP all tournament. He has allways used his Cleveland headcovers even when he was using the R7 last year.

TTLam
It's interesting to read the NC putter milled like a Betti, cuz I kept thinking that he was using a betti but a never compromise headcover. Ha! that explains it all! i believe singh is still using his ta1s, whic are out of production, but for marketing purposes has them stamped with a cg1 stamp. his new contract also says he must have 13 cleveland clubs, so, they made him that comp with the same weight configuration of the r7 he was using. so his only non cleveland is the steelhead 3 nine wood. he will probably staying with the never comp., becuse they are owned by cleveland I wouldn't doubt that he still has the same TA1's but with a CG1 stamp. I know it was his bag because it said Vijay Singh on it and I remember them talking about his new caddie and who he was. In not stupid, and I know even when he carried or still carries an R7 that he uses a Cleveland headcover with is son or wife's name on it. rhssgolfstar
Well, here ya go guys - a few pics from the Mercedes Championship. Vijay with a Cleveland Comp, not an r7, and of course with lead tape as usual. Here he's got his Black Pearl CG1's or TA1's stamped like CG1's, whatever you want to believe  . A comparison pic, these are his TA1's from the Grand Slam of Golf  . Not a very good pic, but you can see the black and grey paint sceme of his Never Compromise Milled putter. Ernie had a Titleist 904F in play, but not one of the 905 drivers. Sergio swinging his Rac TP '05 irons - they would look sweet in satin  ! Cink was using a Nike OZ center shaft belly putter. Since his 9/7/5 wood is a Cally Steel Head that would make his driver a Cleveland COMP and with the pictures around it is plain to see he was using a COMP the whole tourny. You must have been mistaken and seen the headcover from someone elses bag behind his.

Nah, I dont think so, but whatever, saying and doing are two different things, and knowing how unhappy VJ was using a Comp in the Grand Slam of Golf, I find it hard to believe that he used a Comp. But after seeing some pics of him using it, maybe he did use it during certain rounds and used the R7 on Saturday, but whatever.

Yeah, I can three or four wins, swing looks soild, putting looking pretty good, I like to see him win the US or British Open and finish the slam, but we will see. vokester
hey guys, let me lay the facts out in front of ya. singhhas a new contract that states he must have 13 cleveland clubs. now, we all know that heis playing some sort of cleveland gunmetal iron, whether it is the ta1 or cg1, although i believe it is his old ta1s with a newn stamp for marketing purposes, as the ta1 is out of production, so they would not advertise the club. he is using a comp driver, the same weighting as his old r7. he never carried a r7 headcover anyways. his headcovers bear the names of his wife, ardena, and son, qass. i do not know about his nc putter, but i do know that it counts as being a cleveland club. he of course uses their wedges, and that leaves his high lofted fairway wood to be his only non cleveland club. he just resigned with cleveland several weeks ago, and this old clause was not in his contract. he carried a 510/r7 last year, the 9 wood, and the grace/voodoo/bettinardi last year. ( i may be missing something)
