I must congratulate Scratch on their extremely impressive line-up! Very nice indeed... Remind me of the Hiro Matsumoto irons, but much cleaner cosmetically.

I've gotta say the finish on these puppies are now awesome! The finish on the old cbs had a hand finish look to it, but the finish on these irons are very very nice.

Arrrgh! Now I regret passing on the unstamped proto CB's Ari offered me!

Best looking CB's I've seen and the finishing looks top-notch (do you agree Chris?).

BTW, what is the finish on the handstamped wedge? Looks real good too...

Thank you very much everyone. I can promise that as good as they look in pictures they look even better in person and they play even better than they look. These clubs have a ton of technology in the design and are very very playable and forgiving.

The set you see pictures is one of 4 prototype sets that we made with the S logo in the cavity. We have another small batch of prototypes on the way from Ishihara with the S logo on the muscle in the cavity instead of inside on the toe. The irons are available in 2 different sole grinds, a standard grind that is designed for the sweeper or someone who takes thin divots and is close to the sole grind on the MP14s. The other grind is an anti-dig grind designed for someone who takes deep divots and has problems with most irons digging. It is an aggressivly cambered grind with some bounce and a very round leading edge. (still flatter from heel to toe) It is available in Satin and Polished Chrome. We will also be offering a limited amount of hand ground completely custom sets for a price upgrade. You will be able to choose grind, shape and all specs in the same way as our custom wedges. The new Black finish is still in prototype form but we hope to be able to introduce it within the next 3-4 weeks. It will be available only on custom sets and custom wedges although we may do a limited run of prototypes in this finish at a later date. It is not a black oxide finish it is designed not to rust or wear and play more like chrome. The price for these irons is $1250 and that includes any True Temper or Rifle shaft except Project X and Tour Concept. You can also choose almost any rubber grip. We will also bend them to any lofts and lies free of charge and make them any length. I will have the small batch of irons next week and some of them are already spoken for so if you are interested in a set email me at [email protected] and reserve your set now.

I will try to answer all specific questions in the above posts.

As for the specs, they will come in from Ishihara in the following specs:

3- 22* 59*

4- 25* 60*

5- 28* 61*

6- 32* 62*

7- 36* 62.5*

8- 40* 63*

9- 44* 63.5*

P- 48* 64*

However we can easily bend them to desired specs. They are forged from the same 1018 carbon steel as our wedges so they are very soft. The clubs are weighted to be D3 at standard lengths but we can make them any length and weight them to your prefered swingweight in most cases. They are slightly bigger than your normal blade. They measure just under 3.1" heel to toe. Most modern blades are about 3". They have a small amount of offset that is slightly progressive. The closest thing to the way they setup that I have seen is the TM Lehman grinds although the shape is different and much better proportioned (specifically in the heel area) and better looking IMO. But the size, offset and toe are pretty simular.

They are available now in very limited quantities. They will be released full retail around April 1st and at that time they will be more widely available. They will be called the AR-1 in their retail form. The retail clubs will be the exact same as the prototypes except the stampings will be a little different. They will also be the same price.

The finish on the handstamped wedge is our new tumbled Raw unplated finish. That wedge was ground by our master grinder Jeff McCoy here in the USA. We have completely revamped the grinding and polishing process of our USA made custom wedges and the finish comes out looking much much better now. We have somewhat abandoned the more hand finished look of our clubs and made them look more uniform and finished like other OEM clubs. (although we have also made the actual sole grinds look better with more definition so you can really see the grinding work) The grind on that wedge is very simular to the grind on our 58* and 60* OTR/Retail High Bounce wedges and is the most popular grind that we have done for better players in the high lofted wedges. We have recently made 6 different wedges for a few different Champions Tour players and 3 of the 6 had some form of that grind on them. We will have prototyopes of the Japan Ishihara made retail line in the next couple weeks also. The Japan made Retail line will be called the JLM Grind line. It will be available in Satin Chrome in a Sweeper low bounce line and a Digger high bounce line. I will be posting more pics and information as soon as we get the prototypes in from Japan.

I am sorry we do not sell individual irons just 3-PW sets. At the moment we do not offer a 2 iron but we hope to make that available by the end of the summer at the latest.

I will have a couple wedges back in the new Black finish in the next couple weeks or so. I will post pics as soon as I get them back. I also will have one set of the new irons done in the new Black (for my bag  ) and I will post pics of those as soon as I get them. If there is enough interest I will do a limited run of irons in Black. You guys let me know.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions.
