hmmm, the bamboo background kinda makes it seem like the shaft is made out of bamboo...

It looks much better in reality than in the pictures.

My dad has one and its a very forgiving club. The shaft is more suited for slower swings i reckon, but Honma has always been known for their shafts.

Yes, they do cost a bomb. However, there is a saying in Asia that "you don't ever need to buy Honma, you are given Honma".
