I've been playing them for about 6 months now. Very solid. Very long. With the right shaft they are tough to beat. They are the best FW's I've ever played and I've been ho'ing for quite a while now. They have stayed in the bag. They are pretty forgiving too and are good off the deck. They kicked out the 200 Steel's I was using for a long time.

They Work for me!

I have two setups with them, 3 & 5 with M-85 shafts and the 4 & 7 with DG X100 soft step.

If its not windy i will take the 3 & 5, when it is windy or the course is very tight I take the 4 & 7 for accuracy.

The top profile looks better than the BBD type H IMO, These are long and forgiving the only thing that could use a little improvement is the sound. I have hit the Tour version that is foamed with a different leading edge grind, it was too player for me. The standard version puts all others to shame if you have the shaft that best fits you.

Retail on the right side...

IMHO opinion there not as forgiving as some of the woods on the market. However, if your swing is decent they are as long and acurate as you could want in any fairway metal. This club will probably be in my bag for the duration of the summer.

Are they forgiving?

What index are you? How well do you normally hit a 3 wood off the deck, in the rough?

Here's what I have had as far as 3 woods and comparisons.

More forgiving than kasco kp-99, Titty 970 & PT, RC BBD Type H, Sonartec SS-03

About equal to a TM 200 ridgie and v-steel, Sonartec NP-99,

Not as forgiving as my Orlimar tri-metal, 980 strong, TM 200 eagle, Cally GBB2

i think the most forgiving 3 wood i ever hit was a nike t40 oversize. That was stupid easy to hit. My opinion on the forgiveness of the GAF1 may be a little influenced because the only times i have tried it were when it was the mid 30s. Will see if it is more forgiving when the temp gets up over here.
