Nippons - frequency?

I was wondering if the Nippon shafts butt frequency similar to a DG or Rifle. I've read that some of the frequency #'s have them at about senior flex - I know these play soft but didn't think they flexed that soft. Would the soft tip of the Nippons skew the butt frequency #s? I want to experiment with the Nippons and am going to pull some from a set of Titleist 804s w/ the stock Nippon 970 stiffs. Does anyone know if these play true to flex (even if the butt frequency is low)?

Thanks.

I have a set of these Nippon for Titleist NS 970's in stiff flex installed in my TM irons. To me, the flex seems much stiffer than the DG S-300's that were originally in them. This might be due to the lighter weight (106 grams) than the DG @ around 127 grams. These shafts do hit the ball higher, but I wouldn't anticipate these shafts being any softer in feeling than DG and with any added flex. Even when hit well, they still feel very firm at impact, with little or no release at impact that I could feel. Its possible that this NS 970 in regular may have suited my swing better, would have given me more feeling.

I've never hit a Nippon NS Pro 950 or NS Pro 1050, i'm not sure of the difference, if any. Hope this helps you out.

What swingweight did your TM's come out at? Did you have to add any tip weight or lead tape? I am hoping to get to a D4 swingweight.

I'm surprised that the Nippons feel stiffer than S300s. Curious as to what your 5iron swingspeed is. I really like the feel of both but need some shock absorption to help with my tendonitis.

Thanks for the feedback.

 Compared to DGs, approximately what flex would the stiff 1150 GH be?
