Posted May 3, 200519 yr comment_93077 i want to make sure i have this right: soft stepping is using a 2 iron shaft in a 3 iron, 3 iron shaft in a 4 iron etc..... through the set. hard stepping is the exact opposite, using pw shaft in a 9 iron, 9 iron shaft in a 8 iron, etc......... through the set. is that correct? next question, what does this do? how does this affect shaft flex and kick point in the shaft.
May 3, 200519 yr comment_93103 From the little knowledge I have, I would say if you soft step a shaft your going to get a little softer feel, not much of a difference in trajectory. Hard stepping is just the opposite. Doing this is supposed to give a person the in between flex. Anyone can correct me here, I am probably doing a disservice here. :smile2: G
May 3, 200519 yr Author comment_93124 this is more of something you would do with true temper shafts rather than rifle shafts, seeing that rifle offers more flex options?
