Sam-Tee-Time
.......this weekend at Colonial and the Nelson, I saw many tour players using a shaft with a bright yellow tip section, a small (6" or so long) middle section that's colored silver, and a darker-colored butt section. The players I recall were Aaron Baddeley, Jesper Parnevik, and Robert Gamez, but there were at least 3-5 others using this shaft. When I asked Gamez' caddie what it was, all he said was "UST". Does anyone know what it is? Just curious, especially since I love UST shafts.

yogi
Do you have the protos? Or the V2's? If so, can you give specs? Any chances you have an Aldila Cinnamon laying around? I really want one of those. G

I'll have to check for sure. It's an old pic I had. As for cinnamons....theyve all been sold. I think I was one of the first to post them back in Mrach. yogi
Whats the story with the orange? Is it something different? Where can I get a Cinnamon? I just picked up some R5TPs and I want a Cinnamon in it. I would swap a Diamana and some change for one if one was located. Thanks, G
+TourSpecGolfer
also what is the proto "pipe" shaft?
pitbull808
also what is the proto "pipe" shaft? Are you talking about the top shaft in this pic?
pitbull808
Here's some UST Pro Force Proto Pics. One shows the shaft specs for the X Stiff and Tour X. And yes, their all Yellow bottoms. :smile2:
Sam-Tee-Time
Wow, that looks too stout of a shaft for me! Do you have any characteristics on how they play? (light/heavy, firmtip/softtip, kickpoint?, etc. etc.?) I'm very curious about the Proto, as I love UST shafts (and Accras as well). If you have any S-flex (265cpm) Protos, drop me an email or PM, I'm curious how much they co$t. I'd be curious to see if one of the heavier ones might work in a 4Wood as well. sly_sam
As soon as that shaft comes out (June 1), it's going on my Launcher 400. As soon as i saw Adam Scott use it as a prototype early in the year, i knew that i wanted it.
sly_sam
http://www.ustgolfshaft.com/USTWeb/Product...tail.aspx?id=63 i don't think the Proto version has anything different from the V2 (or the one i'll be getting). As for how the specs are for it, the tip is really stable with low torque, but it is also responsive for better launch (still launches medium but barely twists at impact). Great overall shaft, which is a good reason for its tour popularity.
