xraes
I'm a rookie to TSG and found out about the site after bidding on a custom grind set of Mizzies on E-bay recently. I didn't win, thankfully, because I had no idea about all the options available. I've exchanged a few E-mails with Chris, whose out of the country, but would appreciate any insight into the combo aspect, i.e. mixing 32's, 33's, and 37's. I've played 33's for about 4 years and really don't experiment with irons much (drivers and putters another story). Also, any help or experience with shaft options? My irons are DGS300. This a great site, thanks for any help. Xraes

plus1
With the custom mizuno options your choices are unlimited! you have the choice of the 27s, 30s, 32s, 33s and 37s o and soon the 60s, all of which you can mix and match depending on your own preferences! you can make a great 2 0r 3 tier combo set...ie.. p-9 in 37 8-6 in 33 5-3 in 32 or p-7 in 37 6-3 in 32 but if it were me choosing i would probably go for the cutmuscle combo! 32s and 60s! also with any custom mizuno set you choose you can custom the finish, the grind, the topline, the bounce, the head shape...the list is actually endless lol! some of the sets chris has ordered in have been sick! they look so freakin good! ps make sure you check out all the stampings....IMO dont just go for the plain m stamp, as this is a favourite ...go for something truely unique! as far as shafts go i personally would go project x....as this seems to be the best shaft for my game! however the Nippon range from 950 to 1150 are excellent shaft, that provides super feel, great distance and all all round good playability! let us know what you decide! Now I'm thinking about going for matching Scratch wedges and Gauge putter. Hell, I may even throw in a new Adidas bag and Tourstage Driver. This site is going to be EXPENSIVE. But hey, a ho is a ho! taipanli
Plus 1 ansd Matt,Thanks for the help. I can't wait to talk to Chris, whatever I get is going to be SICK! Thanks Again. Why go with Scratch wedges when you can also get custom Mizuno wedges?? Huge number of finish, grind, stamping, paintfill, swing weight options and probably for no more than Scratch wedges. Not saying Scratch is not worth it but if you're getting custom Mizuno irons then custom Mizuno wedges are the only way to go  Gauge Japan putter is a good move. tsg4tch
What exactly are the different grind options Mizuno offers? Is there a custom order sheet somewhere that shows these?

tsg4tch
Yeah, I've seen that thread. It states "custom grind and bounce." So. I order set of MP-32s and tell Chris I want the "custom grind", how will that be different from stock? There are many ways to grind an iron.....how will Mizuno know exactly what I want unless there is a list of options to choose from. All I'm talking about is grinds that affect how the iron performs...not the cosmetic stuff. they used to be black, now raw and rusty. nice What happened to the black?! matt411
had them for over a year and got bored with the black. I feel like i got a new set of clubs without spending any money. Its easy to make them black again if i want to.
