  1. try the hybrid, hybrids are so easy to chip with it should be illegal. once you get the speed right, you will be deadly. since you only have 13 clubs in the bag, you can throw another hybrid in to chip with AND have the bonus of hitting other shots with it. matt
  2. great design for soft sand. the shape of the hogan at address was a little more pleasing to my eye but i'm sure both will work great.
  3. that was quick. big demand. what kind of shaft options to you get from TM-Japan. Here in the states with the TP's we don't really get any. do you know which graphite design shaft is comparable to the one on ebay? thanks chris.
  4. the eldik ace in my opinion was the worst of all the eldik's. the older eldik's were awesome. i haven't tried the leap's so i will NOT tell you which one is better or agree with someone else because it would only be a guess. heavy headed eldik's were awesome. eldik m was unbelievable. i still putt with an eldik prototype.
  5. how do you know if he is right if you have never tried one??
  6. money orders/checks??? i know people know you here so that might be ok, but that leaves buyers with no security if the seller is a thief. A money order is essentially sending cash to a stranger and a check gives that stranger your bank account number, address, and for some people, there driver's license number. i use american express through paypal when i buy; if a seller accepted check/money order only, he/she would never get a sale from me.
  7. in my uninformed opinion, it is pretty ridiculous you guys are not being taken care of on this. the clubs are essentially falling apart and the response is "go buy epoxy." gfield should be better than that.
  8. are the new mp67's available custom???

  10. you might want to size that picture down a little.
  11. I was in 1st appearance court (working), in tampa. Public defender got a phone call, whispered to me and the State Attorney that a plane had crashed in the World Trade Center. We all thought it was an accident until he got another phone call for the 2nd plane. The rest of the day was crazy. President Bush was in the tampa area at that school and i was working at a government building so security was stepped up a little bit to say the least. We had snipers on top of the courthouse and we were told they were on top of most of the buildings in downtown tampa. Some people understandably left for the day out of fear but most people stayed. We all thought Tampa might be a target with the President in town but with MacDill AFB in tampa, we felt fairly secure. Its crazy how much i can remember about that day. I remember bailiff, courtreporter, SA, PD just like it was yesterday.
  12. are you still a non-smoker??? when i have quit in the past, the golf course was the place that always gave me the most cravings. at one point i spent about 6 months with a carton of cigarettes in my bag but no where else. if i didn't play for a week, i didn't smoke for a week, but on the course, i would smoke about 1/2 a pack. its a shame, but if i wasn't a golfer, i probably wouldn't be a smoker but i don't think i'll be giving up golf any time soon.
  13. chris, about what percentage of jpga guys play U.S. oem stuff??
  14. I'm sure chris will respond, but if you want to buy, just PM chris aka tourspecgolfer. he is the gfield master. he runs the site and is very easy to work with and buy from. good luck and welcome to tourspecgolf.matt
  15. I'm just curious how much net weight 20 grams of tungsten actually adds. I'm sure drilling out those holes will cost you quite a few grams of steel. If you know how many grams you lose by drilling please post because I have a few putters I would like to tungstenize.
  16. I have putters from both companies and they are all top quality. Before the new face styles on the GDJ putters, I actually preferred the roll from USGD. GDJ used to flat mill the faces which I never liked too much.
  17. I know me vouching for robbie does you no good cause you don't know me, but he has been around all of the forums forever and I have bought from him before. He is a class act. matt
  18. Are all of g-field's putters going to have all those colors or can you order them with the more traditional and beautiful looks of the older GD japan putters.
  19. Look forward to seeing the pear shaped retail model. That one looks a little strange to my eye. I think there is a reason GD is not taking that shape retail. Is the retail model going to have the same type of scoring lines?
  20. I like pic 2. When I get the club too much in my fingers like in pic one, I am all over the place. Makes my grip way to strong and I get too handsy.
  21. I want to preface this by saying I play custom mizuno's and the craftmanship is outstanding, but.... what superior technology are you guys referring too?? Please tell me you're not talking about turbo rubber which makes me laugh every time I hear it. Is there really that much of a technological difference in what's being sold in Japan as opposed to here in the US or is it just the difference in what we are willing to pay. Is the r7 XR really $400 more technologically advanced than the us retail r7 425? If it was, don't you think more pga guys would be playing these drivers?? You see tour guys all the time playing drivers from companies that they are not under contract with the "wrong" headcover to cover it up, but rarely do you see that headcover come off and some exotic japanese driver come out. Is the composite crown of the x-18 actually better than the all titanium x460 or is the sound it makes something the US market doesn't like? I don't know, but I don't buy that the ridiculous mark up in prices of japan only products is all about better tech and better tolerances. I think it more about the perception of better tech and better tolerances. I would like to see some iron byron test results of japanese vs. US clubs to see how the results turn out. Maybe I'm wrong. I played a GD balde for quite a while and it is a beautiful putter that puts a great roll on the ball. Made in china. Does that mean it is a piece of $hit because it wasn't made in japan?? No, it is made by a great company that makes a great product. Anyways i'm just rambling now, try not to flame too much.
