Gauge muscle back irons

Recommended Posts

Saw that there is also a muscle back version from Gauge, anyone tested these, compared to the NC1, MB2 ?

JET

the muscle back version known as the MB was released at the beginning of 05. i had a set of these, as well as my current mb2s, nc1s and nc1 handmades.

all of the set feel identical, soft yet solid! the forgiveness of the nc1s and the mb2s are greater than the forgiveness of the MBs, however the MBs are by far the easiest BLADE i have ever hit.....ie they are in no way hard to hit, just not as easy as the oter two sets.

Any iron produced by gauge in 05 gets my thumbs up! :tsg_smilie_cool:

If you're speaking of the MB that was released in 2005 then I would like to add that they are one of the most forgiving blades that I've hit. (I think they also have another blade that looks more traditional).

I play both the MBs (x flex 1050 shafts) and the NC1s (softstepped 1150 stiffs). I prefer the feel of the MBs. I think they feel softer, but remain forgiving. The NC1s are slightly more forgiving, but not by much. Both heads are so unique and I receive many compliments on both sets. I would consider playing a flow set between the two, but honestly there's really not a need to swap out the long irons. The MB long irons do not have a very noticeable drop-off in forgiveness.

All down to the $$$ they spend on R&D and the quality forgind process.....Gauge rocks! :tsg_smiley_gun:

The MB's rock! They are along the same lines in regards to performance and feel as the NC1 and MB2's.

There is a rumor that G-Field is working on a prototype of the 05 MB with a cavity to replace the MB2 in the U.S market.
