tigerlurch
Ok guys, need some help and suggestions. I am going to order a custom set of 33s from Chris and have a couple of questions for those that have ordered or seen some of these options. The help is really appreciated. 1.) Finish: Trying to decide between the satin or nickel. How durable is the nickel finish compared to satin? Do either of them ding, scratch or rust easier than the other? Also, is the nickel just a dulled down chrome? 2. Topline: Does anyone have a pic of a MP33 with a thicker topline? Also, would love to see a pic of a custom MP33 with a deeper face, especially in the heel area. 3. Milling Marks on the face: I think this would look extremely cool but will it cause the 33s to balloon even higher than normal? 4. Trajectory: Are there any options in customization that would bring the ball flight down outside of adjsting the lofts? Would giving the 33s a thicker topline distribute more weight towards the top of the club and bring down the flight? Also, I did a search on custom mizunos but if anyone has pics then PLEASE post. Thanks.

Would giving the 33s a thicker topline distribute more weight towards the top of the club and bring down the flight? Also, I did a search on custom mizunos but if anyone has pics then PLEASE post. Thanks. Let me first start by sharing the finishing options: Polished Chrome: Twilight Chrome: Brushed Satin: Double Nickel: Shinny Black: Flat Black: 1. Satin has a more glossy finish to it, It is slightly more durable yet will feel more firm at impact. The nickel will be a tad softer as well as less glossy. Both look incredible. 2. Mizuno will not do a grind that affects performance in a negative manner. Grind options include, Rounding a leading edge, matching top lines and soles in a combo set, increase or decrease sole or top line size, adjusting offset, and rounding or sharpening a toe. 3. They will no put milling marks on the face of a club. 4. To bring trajectory down I would suggest adjusting the MP37's to start with or selecting a shaft option that will help you keep it low. tigerlurch
Thanks Chris! That was a great post with the finish options. Do you have a pic of a 33 with a thicker topline? Also, can you order a set without the "Grain Flow Forged" stamping on the hosel?
KeepingItReal
New to the forum, so pardon my ignorance, but are these finish options avaiable on all irons from Mizuno and if so, how do you get a set custom finished?

I beleive it is only on the MP series of irons. Do a search on custom mizunos and it will give you the links to the order form.

I have never seen options for different finishes outside of the Scratch sets, but I would love to get some cut muscle 32's in a different finish... +TourSpecGolfer
These custom mizunos are only found in Japanese select shops, you can drop me a PM for more info. Thanks Chris! Sorry not pics of that, the " Grain Flow Forged " must stay on the neck.

FairwayFred
What is the difference between "Twilight Chrome" and "Polished Chrome"?
taipanli
I can attest that the double nickel satin finish is awesome. My custom Mizuno wedges are in that finish and I coudn't be happier. Great feel and no glare.

xraes
I bought my Mizzies from TSG last month. They are MP32'4-6 iron, MP33 7-PW satin finish with a gold m stamp. NS Pro 1150 stiff shafts. I love them! :tsg_smiley_yes: I've played 33's for years and find the shafts similar to DGS300's. As far as the customization, I think it's well worth it. To me, the satin looks understated but people who know golf gear definitely stop and check them out. I bought the MPT wedges to match but they couldn't replace my vokies. Chris, tourspecgolfer, is the contact. He is great to deal with and always responds promptly to pm's. I think my irons only took about 5-6 weeks from order to arrival. I've played about 12 rounds with them and they do have a little bag chatter, no worse or maybe even a little better than chrome. I believe the nickel may be even softer and I would assume less durable from nicks, etc. I thought about iron covers but these beauties are too cool to cover :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: Thanks again Chris! sniperjoe
Great looking setup man! Looks good. Why the combo in the irons? I notice a lot of people doing that, but what is the main purpose or purposes?
torrejuan
I like the finish. Would they custom a set of MP-60's? I think that would be my choice. I liked the 33's, but I hated the PW.

I liked the 33's, but I hated the PW. MP-60's are now available. Some people are going with the full set while others a custom matched topline, offset, and sole of 60/32's. Pm me if you have any questions.
