SwingMan
That is lovely - any specs on a 56? Looking for a versatile SW.
sfgolfer
A ha, a 58/12. I'm thrilled to see Miura finally getting into the high-bounce wedges! :tsg_smiley_yes:
03trdblack
Beautiful wedge. Only problem is I have a hard time getting excited about wedges these days. They all basically look the same. Yeah, you can make them out of different metals and add different grinds to the sole, but other than that they all pretty much look the same with the same amount of technology. Top notch wedge in the looks category however and I'm sure the feel is butter!
slicktry
Top notch wedge in the looks category however and I'm sure the feel is butter! I agree. One of the nicest looking wedges I have seen in a long time! God Bless Jer
mrzodia
interesting sole, kinda reminds me of the TS X-wedge. What's it for?
+TourSpecGolfer
interesting sole, kinda reminds me of the TS X-wedge. What's it for? It allows you to open the face and lay it flat while still having a good amount of bounce.
corky3
The things the Japanese write on their products really crack me up. .... e.g. 'Athletic Spirit' 'For the discerning Golfer' 'Tour Versatile edition'.......... WTF? mind you I do like to COMO COME headcover with 'For Brave Golfers Only' on it LOL :tsg_smilie_wink:

SwingMan
AAAHHHHHHHH... So does it work? 58.12 seems like a heckuva lot of bounce already - opening up usually adds to the bounce. So does laying it open with that unique sole keep the leading edge on the ground or add to the bounce?
K2_2
I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to see what everyone thought about the 58 degree Miura WMF series wedges out of the sand after having used them for awhile. Thanks.
plus1
I have both the 53 and the 58 from chris. From my experience I played teh 58 great from firm dry ground and from sand, however when the ground is wet and soggy which can be the case a lot of the time inthe winter - the club diggs badly! The 53 is a great all round wedge that i think plays great on links and parkland and for me is more versitile than the 58. Both are a great design by miura, with nice feel and a funky look - but im sorry to say that neither last in my bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
K2_2
Hi Plus1, Thanks for the reply. That is the type of feedback I was looking for... it sounds like the 58 might be good if I play a dry course (as you said) or one with firm bunkers, but I might go with something else for the rainy season here in Thailand (plenty of time to sort that out though). Cheers. BTW, I hope you are enjoying the VIQ Deep... waiting for that to show up so I can demo one and compare it to the X-Drive 435. The most versitile lob wedge i have and still use is the gauge design gas1 forged. I always go back to this baby as for me - it is soooo reliable from any type of ground! However the beres lobwedge seems very tempting! As for the deep - it is a definite keeper - i have had it a while now - it has an ozik altus installed and it is a true FAIRWAY FINDER! I am astonished by how consistent the club is. It is not overly long but still goes out there and it keeps me in play. You want to compare it with the 435.....I have a 435 with a tp7 in it and when i put the two together the deep is easier to hit - has a nicer feel to it, very soft yet not hollow. The 435 puts more spin back spin on the ball and does not travel as far. Out of the two drivers I have the viq in the bag - which actually knocked the epon out too. Hope this helps
ranghips
I endorse Plus 1's findings on the Miura wedges, I too have the 53* and 58*, I have only played with them in soft conditions here in the UK and the 58* does dig on full shots with my usual steep attack. I think that it will be excellent in drier conditions, the 53* is very versatile and the unique sole design allows you to open or close the face to make different shots around the green. The 53* is staying in the bag, the 58* may get displaced until the ground firms up, my trusty Adams 60* may yet get another outing!
