sniperjoe
I've narrowed my shaft choices down, but I think I need input in order to pick the best choice for me. My average swing speed is around 106mph and I don't have a problem with distance, but I want to be more accurate. I want a lot of feel and fairly low torque. I've narrowed it down to these shafts: Fujikura Zcom BW65 Speeder 757 Vista Tour 60 or 70 Rombax 7V05 Speeder 660 TR Axiv 6564M Accuflex Evolution I would really like to hit all of these shafts, but that won't be possible. Actually, I havn't hit any of them. That's why I really need some insight on this. From what I've heard about the Evolution, it doesn't look like I could go wrong. The shaft is like $90 right? This shaft will probably be going in a J33R 460. The PRGR T3 that I wanted is just too spendy for me. I don't think that the performance difference between the two drivers would be worth $500+. I'll take any suggestions. Thanks.
Dicksy
I've played 757's for a while now and for me they are just fairway finders, with considerable distance as well. First time I encountered them, was after a Callaway fitting day, ended up buying a 415 with a 757. Dropped my handicap from 11 to 7 within a year, simply because I was finding more fairways. AKFLY
I play 660 TR S tipped 3/4 in a R7 and it is very sweet. Also had one in a 510 TP. I tried evolution in a 540 DF and it was good very solid - I had a stiff and would have preferred to try a regular flex as allot of people say they play stiff to flex. Also played a 757 in a tour issue 510 (345cc). It was untipped inserted 1.75 " it played well. I hope to have a J33 460 delivered soon and plan on putting a 757 in it at first. Rombax 6V05 & 7V05 I've tried looking for info on the PT -6 and 7 because I've heard you say that you like them. Could you PM me all of the specs? Right now I'm leaning toward the Axiv and the Evolution. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I play 660 TR S tipped 3/4 in a R7 and it is very sweet. Also had one in a 510 TP. Why a regular over the stiff? What is your swing speed? The 757 is in like 3rd place right now on my list. Thanks for the info.
sniperjoe
I read a good review on the Zcom BW65. I think this shaft just moved up into the running. Just knocked out the 757.
gus
I've played a lot of top quality shafts and the Evolution is great regardless of the cost! I have it in my 905T and couldn't be happier. With your swing speed I might consider staying away from the 757 and consider the 652ex in X-flex, I have this shaft in my FT-3 and it's really nice. It plays stiff enough to go after it but not so stiff that you loose distance. My swing speed is very similar to yours. Play the Evolution in Stiff flex, not reg. That's just my opinion... Here's what I know: PT-6 63g/3.5 torque/Mid kick PT-7 72g/3.4 torgue/Mid kick

acrazygolfer
Here's what I know:PT-6 63g/3.5 torque/Mid kick PT-7 72g/3.4 torgue/Mid kick Thanks for the spec Sfgolfer. If you don't have an agressive down swing from the top, then go with the PT-6 ... otherwise go with the PT-7.
sniperjoe
I think I'm leaning toward the Zcom BW 65, the Axiv, and the Evolution. Nobody has the PT-6 or 7 except for Chris. Right? If I'm wrong I'd like to hear what others have to say about it. Im not sure if my swing is aggressive. I do have a quick tempo. I also have a tendency to have my hands a head of the clubhead at impact which is giving me that big huge fade or nasty slice. I just need to work on getting the clubhead square at impact. Sounds so easy. It's weird because when I first started playing golf three years ago, driving was the best part of my game. I would hit it long and straight. As time goes on, I'm getting better with my irons, putter, and short game and my driver is failing me. I find that I perform better with my driver when I don't practice. I just wait till I get to the course, look at the fairway and let my mind and natural swing do the rest. When I try and think about what I need to do in order to produce a good drive I do worse. Anybody get that?
lutty
If your at a stage in your game where you fight a slice, or even unwanted fade, I would eliminate the Evolution, it is the only shaft you have mentioned that I have experience with, it in my opinion is a control shaft more suited for misses to the other side. accuflex
I know I am probably a bit partial, but when fitted to the right golfer, right set up the Evolution is a very "straight" shaft, I have had many players state it was a "laser" Do some more research online, there are alot of favorable reviews. lutty, maybe I can help with the set up of the shaft if you need help, let me know. ramizuno13
The Vista Tour is not a easy shaft to hit either. It's meant for a very aggressive swinger. Don't expect much forgiveness. I bought it because of the cool chrome Ion plating. Boy did my game suffer. Even in the regular flex that I alway use.
