From a company gone bankrupt to a vibrant new force in high end golf gear, Honma golf has been re-invented with an entirely new line named BERES. With 4 different categories for different player abilities to choose from the model I would like to feature this week are the Forged MG801 irons. For the better player yet not exactly blade like these new irons feature a semi compact player profile, minor offset, mid thin top line and smaller sole profile, it doesn’t fall into the game improvement category and is seen in the bags of several well known Japan PGA pros. There are 4 total shaft options but I would like to break it into two. Graphite and Steel. Of course along with honma tradition they offer 2, 3, and 4 star models in carbon shafts. For the advanced TSG’er I recommend getting the most inexpensive model and re-shafting with your best suited option. The other is the NS 850. While both shafts are not suited to the advanced player the club head design is so my recommendation to those considering it would be NS1150 Tour, DG S300 or any shaft you feel best using. My suggestion is D2 3-9 and D3 PW. Honma also offers matching wedges.

The lofts are as follows 3-10I

19, 21, 24, 27, 30, 34, 38, 43, 49, 56

Chris,

Stop! You're going to drive the prices up. I've been saving up for the blades and the 911 driver for a month now. I'm half way there. If only these guys on ebay would stop outbidding me by a few bucks when I'm not looking.

Sharp... I like the rounded sole.

no sir,

just some kinda different color.

Those are sweet looking irons. And I do see a step in the trailing edge of the sole. Nice touch.

Chris what's the price on these?

Drop me a PM, the prices are crazy with the 2 & 3 star graphite shafts but quite affordable by import standards with NS Steel.
