I recently purchased a 48" version of the Redboard (Ion, Flowerband) and I obviously want to make sure I install it correctly in my 3-wood. This is not a bore through head (Adams 4060 Tour head actually). Do you just cut 2" off the tip and then butt trim it to the required length? What would be the final shaft length prior to installation?

As you can probably tell, I'm new to clubmaking and I can't afford to mess this up so I would appreciate any guidance you experts can provide.

Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise!!!

not 100% sure on the red board tipping instructions.. go by what the company says to do.. if it says 2'' than tip cut it 2'' and install.. after drying.. mark at 43'' or what ever length you want to make it -- butt trim for length.. have the proper epoxy, ferrule than your set.. have fun. :atsg_logo_anim:

Where do I find the information on tipping a Red for a fairway shaft?

Stiffer Performance for Driver and Standard Performance for Fairway wood:

Blind Bore - ½" Tip.

Bore Through - No Tip. Insert shaft to 2" depth.
