The shaft is that good. Would probably have to be a X-stiff though, and your C.O.R. wouldn't be too hot... Seriously though, I have one in my X-Drive 435, and it is unreal. Long and straight. Any future driver I try (Epon 460 perhaps) will have the PT6. Big GD fan here...
+TourSpecGolfer
One of the best shafts on the market. No joke, its the diamana killer. In Japan its #1 The entire PT series rocks! Thanks, Chris
dimsum
Hey Chris: If it's that good, looks like I need one in extra stiff to try it out. Dimsum

Thanks, Chris How does it compare to the AXIV V Spec... I've never been a fan of GD in the past-- but I haven't played the AD series... hard to imagine it could be better than the AXIV. But fill me in... I like a nice kick (hence a softer tip) but with stability... Spare no detail and compare the two...

In my honest opinion i liked the PT-6 the least. I am not saying that it is a bad shaft - it just did not work out for me. I tried the stiff flex and seemed to hit it very very high, with far too much draw (uncontrollable). However the feel was very good. In terms of the Tour AD series i definitely preferred the M and W series. My favourite of these shafts was the Axiv V spec. My reason for this is that it has all the feel and distance of the Original Axiv but with a much more stable / consistent flight. The V spec for me kicked through impact beautifully - however did not turn over or hook. The launch was high with this shaft and the spin was very low.....meaning that she carrys far and runs out very well. Also the wind did not effect the flight at all. I have a few different models of the Drev comming this week which i will compare fully with the Axiv V Spec which i think will be a fun shootout. I was never a fan of GD until the W series, I didnt care for the M series and I love the PT series. For me and my swing it works better than the Axiv's I have tested. My prob with axivs is i was getting to little spin, other than that it was great. With the PT-6 i was getting a mid trajectory with great feel and found the fairway more so than anyother shaft. Actually right now im testing DREV's and Mach Line shafts and liking it very much. Keep in mind that its all quite personal but here is how i rank my favorite shafts: 1. PT series by Graphite Design 2. DREV Mach Line 7080 3. DREV ICN Tour 4. Mamiya Axiv V-Spec 7068 All high quality shafts that will vary in play in different hands. plus1
i think you hit the nail on the head there chris! it is a very personal thing and that ALL these shafts are top quality......it is a matter of knowing what specs you need to optimize your distance and accuracy.
