My Red X2 just got benched for my Futura. I missed 7 3 footers   It was a sad sad day. I came very close to throwing in the pond. I need to go see Stan Utley.

I'm right there with you on that change! Where are you missing with the X, push or pull? I pulled my short putts with the X and I never pulled the freaktura. It was an unwelcome change for sure.

The sonartec 5wd I got off E-bay was waiting for me at the door when I got home today. Can't wait to audition that bad boy. I'm not too sure about the shaft though. It's got the apache mfs in it and damn is that thing bright. I'm almost 99.9% convinced that the pro 95 is the best shaft ever for fw's so that be in there soon. Now if the RC is everything I've heard it is, it'll be a question of which club to pull 53* or 4 iron. :-D

Hey, can I post in this thread even though I don't have a Red X?

Man oh man, putting is a funny thing. Two weeks ago I shoot 79, which is my 1st time breaking 80 on a Par 72. My last five holes were:

14- Par - Nice 1 putt on a par 4

15 - Birdie - Drove into a FW bunker. From 100 yds out, hit an easy 50° to 3 feet, sunk the putt

16 - Par - Sand save out a greenside bunker on a Par 5 - sandie!

17 - Birdie - 160 yd par 3 uphill. 8 iron to 6 feet. Severe right to left putt. I actually had to putt the ball 4 feet to the right and slightly past the hole, the ball actually stopped briefly, then made a 90° left turn to roll 4 feet down right into the cup!!! Most amazing putt of my life.

18 - bogeyed, but it was a nice up and down from about 30 yards out.

So, 5 putts on the last 5 holes for 79. 31 putts total.

What did I do the next 2 rounds?

38 putts for an 88 and 36 putts for an 84.

My misses were all pushes   I should have never switched from the Futura in the first place, I was putting lights out with it. Oh well, live and learn.

I just got my SMT Solitaire 2.5 14* in the mail this morning. Going to throw a Grafalloy Blue in it and see what happens. Great looking head, I just have one gripe, whoever taped it up to paint it must of had a few beers. The lines are kind of crooked, but doesn't look that bad.

As you all know Shoe and I have been patiently awaiting our Scratch wedges. I since May 1 and Shoe since May 11. Well as i was sitting here typing Shoe a pm the doorbell rings and the mail lady delivers. My wedge is beautiful. I have never had a satin finished iron and now that I have it in my wedge I know I will have satin again. The grind was not one of the standard grinds but I sent them a wedge head that I had a lot of success with and they replicated it with some tweaks. It came out great. I ordered this b/4 I had tried gripmaster grips so it came with the tour velvet so i will have to slap the extra gripmaster on it. I will post a full review later after i get the chance to use it. Shoe yours must not be too far behind mine. I will get some pics up too.

Welcome back Mike!

You sure you're not from Wisconsin..people here ALWAYS say they're "going up nort ya hey der"..which is a very enigmatic place to me... :surprize:  ...you should see the freeway heading north on Fridays and south on Sundays....Not a place for the timid I assure you....for some reason folks from Illinois :-) have an aversion to allowing more than a carlength of space between vehicles, some kind of primal urge takes over DEMANDING that they fill that gap regardless of any and all consequences...Muhammid Ali didn't bob and weave more than some of these characters..ergo the Wisconsinite mokiner applied to any and all with land of Lincoln plates..FIB's...or F'ing Illinois Bastards..  this of course does not apply to myself as I love my southern neighbors.. :o

I know Al hasn't had time to post much as he's been flattening his ass on a car seat for way too many miles..my cheeks fall asleep just thinking bout all those miles...

ah well..ya'all enjoy the day and smack some golf balls around

Count me in also!

Glad to see you back Mike.

Mike- Glad you could make an appearance   I assume that you have gotten over the stomach issues. You didn't by chance eat pasta cooked by a hot swedish blonde did you? :)

If that's an invite, I'm all in!!!!

Glad to see you Mikey!

Well guys I never thought I would say this , but after a real smooth 85 today the Z 101's and Scratch wedge's are in the dog house .

Am just having a real rough time getting use to the sole and the bounce on Z's and am changing the wedge's just to have something different to look at.

Plus am not all that convinced the the PX shafts are the one's I should be using .

Sure I have played some pretty good games with them both , but am just not consistent enough with them .

So for the time being into the closet they go , and out come the 690.MB's and the chrome Vokey wedge's I have

If they start to work real well for me the 690.MB's , keep an eye out in the b/s/t . There won't be a fire sale but maybe some good bargins will be out there . :money:

I had friends in town so I'm working on little sleep. I had a decent round today with an 83 without making a single putt. I was two under on the par 5's and 7 over on the par 3's  Not too happy about that! It's going to be a long week considering that this weekend has gone by so fast.

Yesterday was gorgeous so I took my youngest to the zoo...the people are more fun to watch than the animals  chicks with beer guts should NOT wear bare midriff fashions.. :surprize: wait ..I'm in Wisconsin where beer guts ARE fashionable..sorry I forgot myself for a minute

gonna play today so we'll see what happens...been chatting with Ari about my wedges and it seems that the finisher had some contamination problems and trashed the entire batch of Antique models...acid in the tank ate the metal and messed all the headweights up..sooo gotta start over  am making some modest changes tho..which happens when I get too much time to think about things...have always wanted to try Nippon shafts in something so I'm gonna have them put in these clubs.. :money: :-D

hey Mike..those smooth 85's are marvelous for the mindset :) :) hope the club switch helps

Is a 983K going to replace the 500 ?

What about the 3wood ?

I hear you regarding the irons. My last round just sucked -period- :tired:

I may reshaft the TM 300's - just not sure with what shaft - TFR's, DG, or ?

Any suggestions.
