Sgt_Slaughter
did ya get the g2 hl irons with them?
HipCheck
Got the HL 3,4 & 5 irons. They have a long sole and noticable cavity from address and are a little shorter at the heel than the regular G2s. I hit them and they went though, but all in all I'd have to say I'd go w/the regular G2s, just for appearance sake. Only played 9 holes in the freezing cold so I can't say I have any judgement on them, except that they're pretty damn easy to hit well. Sgt_Slaughter
im thinking of getting the 18* and 21* High Launch irons. they r hybrids arent they and i want to get 2 to fill the gap between my 3-wood and 4-iron and they'll fit perfectly. considering they r hybrids, ping didnt include them to have headcovers did they like all the other hybrids out there that have the wood look to them and have headcovers
shoe295
He He...I took Alan's information posted awhile back about the Royal Collection FW on ebay and just got me a CV BBD SS pro 16* head for $75...so a hearty thanks to Al for that information  Also picked up a Tourstage U3 19* off BST...so now the only issue is deciding what to shaft them with....would greatly appreciate any and all thoughts on this and remember..money is no object (cough cough spit).. and because once I get going on this kind of thing I have trouble stopping am looking at those x-blades in the BST, although I saw an almost new set of Z101's that could probably be had for reasonable $$$..and when I hit them I thought they were better than the 690 mb's and very very close to the MP 32,33,37"s.. somebody stop me before I do something really rash LOL... chainsaw
You're truly a sick man Shoe :) Seek help right now! Especially since you're more than likely under two feet of snow. I, on the other hand, have only bought two wedges and a driver head in the last few days, so my addiction is perfectly under control. I even passed on a new shaft and everything. It's only gonna be 50 this weekend so I'll probably pass on a round plus my grandma is in town but next weekend is gonna be in the 60's. Look out 79 here I come. I've got to break 80 once before the year is over.

shoe295
Especially since you're more than likely under two feet of snow.. 2 inches is all..which may make playing this weekend a little tough..although it's supposed to get to 45* on sunday...the problem becomes the frozen ground..it hurts like hell when you hit one fat cuz the ground doesn't give and all that force comes right back up the shaft causing your shoulders to either dislocate or provide one with a nice set of cauliflower ear..not comfortable or pretty.. :D ..the resulting shot is however very attractive depending on how bad you fat it, the club can bounce high enough so you either just clip the very top of the ball resulting in a screaming grounder or it will bounce right over the ball leading to what looks a lot like someone trying to stick a club up his own ass.. :-D ..either way it's not uncommon to wind up falling over which makes it a really tough shot to follow because your laughing so hard ...I love winter golf..really I do.. Alcap26
I pose a question that I think i already know the answer for. When you get a new set of irons that are std specs and you need them adjusted length and lie wise do you A)play them because you cannot resist the temptation or B) wait until you get the work done? Now don't say you just work on them yourself and then play because some of us do not have that ability...me. The reason I ask is because I just got a new set in the mail. Brand Spanking new set of King Cobra Forged SS irons. I took the pw outside and hit some thirty yard pitches with it and they feel softer than my TM 300 irons and they look more forgiving with the same amount of offset. They look great and I am wanting to put them in for tomorrows round but should I stick with the 300 even though I have been questioning the specs, Oh well....I may just go ahead and take them out for the round...we will see. Alcap26
More of a budget ho...can't afford the exotic stuff like the gauge irons or some of those beautiful custom mizuno irons but by selling your old set of 300 and the three wood along with the eld**k putter and these only being 325.00 I had to give them a try after demoing the 6 iron this past weekend. I am thinking of doing 3/4 inch long and the lie angle progression of 2,4-5 at 2 up, 6-8 at 1 up and 9-lw at std. I will have to get my scratch and JoeK wedge bent. I noticed something though...I have been on this site for over a year and had the same driver since about the first week on here. and now I am back tot he putter I had before I ever even knew golf forums exisited. I'm with these irons for the long haul and if I need to have something to look at I always have my 300 as a backup set. and if memory serves me right didn't you sell the set of irons you are using now and then you have ended up with them back in you bag....hmmm...do I smell a ho....I think I do :smile2:
shoe295
Al..play the irons the heck with the adjustments...I only say this cuz no way could I let them sit once I had them in my hands.. ..I might entertain that thought but I'd only be fooling myself, which I try regularly but am seldom successful at...congrats on the new irons by the way.. tis the season to ho ho ho.... :money: :money: :money:  sometimes I just crack myself up.. Alcap26
I will admit I have been neglectful to our precious thread but have been in the chat quite a bit so I got lazy. Played Friday and Sat...high 40's and no wind but I guess I was a glutton because I played the blues both days...6580 on one course and 6795 on the other. Did not play thast bad but I have to get the short irons working better. The long game is as good as it has ever been but my short irons could be a lot better. no golf today...20's and light snow but Tuesday it will be in the mid-upper 40 so will play again and then Florida for 9 days starting on the 26th. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Alan
