Mike,

I figured you guys might be taking a break. It was nice to shoot the 77 today. I felt at ease when I started although I three putted the first green for bogey. The swing felt real smooth and I just decided not to try and overpower the irons...just save that for the driver. It was fun and if the rain holds off I will play nine holes with the JV team tomorrow although my lazy ass will have to walk and this course is hilly....I mean hilly and for an East TN boy to say that you know it is true.

Hipcheck not bad on the virtual golf. Only played that once and could not for the life of me putt. Cmike i hope the snow goes away for good soon..Good night to all.

Alan

I looked at my clubs this morning..sigh...too much snow still around to even hit shags...not sure if my elbow would stand up to it anyway..gonna give the PT till Wednesday and if it's not any better have them send me to the sports medicine doc and get the cortisone shot...3 days after that i should be able to find a bare patch of ground to smack a few around..

Alan..77 in Feb. not bad at all..

Shoe I have been wondering how you have been doing. Hope the elbow gets better soon. My father is having a ton of trouble with his and the pt was really making it worse and he quit. hope your works out. Thanks for the congrats on the 77. It was one of those days when your brain did not get in the way of your swing. Don't have these very often so i savor them when they do happen. have a great weekend.

Question for all the gurus..since I have never seen a driver that spec's out to the loft stamped on it do any of you guys check the actual loft out before you buy? The driver I'm playing now is stamped 10.5 but is actually over 11* and the back up Gemini I have is stamped 12 but plays to 11.2*...since I'm thinking of picking up a 510TP used from Nevada Bob's I really want something that is closer to 9.5* or 10* than 11* as I am in a lot better shape than last year(finally got off my old ass and started working out after a year and half hiatus...sometimes one gets tired of being wimpy) and want to get the ball flight down a little ...I just don't want to drop a couple of bills on a head and then find out its not what I want. I'm borrowing a tool from the local club builder to take with me and just wonder if it will surprise them when I start measuring face angles? thanks, in advance for the help..

I have had mine tested and it is very close to loft. I think they make a small gauge you can get from golfsmith that would do this. Whenever I get another driver I will check it. I do not think there is anything wrong with this. you might be able to get this done where you buy it. From what I understand you might be in for quite a surprise when you put the gauge on the faces.

Actually shoe it will probably surprise the crap out of them when you pull out the gauge .

I have this feeling that if your Nevada Bob's are anything like the one we have here they would have no idea that anybody would even think that the stamped loft was a bunch of S**T on a lot of drivers

I say go right ahead and do it , as I know I sure would if I was in your shoes :-D  :surprize:

Hey I made a funny this morning

and you're right they probably will drop a load when i first ask if they will check the loft..this could get to be some real fun.. :surprize:

Give 'em hell, Shoe!!!

OK, I'm getting real antsy (sp?) now, b/c it's only 15 days 'til Myrtle Beach! We're in the middle of a foot of fresh powder in Jersey, so I can't wait to get out of here (actually, it doesn't even have to be snowing for me to what to get out of this damn state  )

So, I think the bag is set:

9.5° Nak

15° Nak reshafted with Nippon NS Pro GT 700

16° TourStage FUT reshafted w/NSPro 950 FW

19° TourStage FUT

4-PW Forged SS

54° Vokey reshafted w/NSPro 1050

59° Zodia US Spec shafted w/NSPro 1050

Big Ben

I think that's 14...Anyway, No Gap wedge for me right now. I have a 50° Phil Rodgers which has the same sole grind as the irons, basically, but has a much heavier shaft than the others, so I think it'll be left at home. Everything I listed as being reshafted is being done as we speak, so I haven't hit them yet. I'm really cutting it close.

I always get so psyched to play down in Myrtle, but it's the first rounds of the year...it's St. Patty's day...I wind up shooting like 91 every day. :tired:

Maybe I can break that streak this year...

Holy Warm Weather..supposed to be 60* today..March..Wisconsin...60*..oh what to do what to do..LOL.. :surprize: ....taking my youngest down the hill to the range and let her smack a few while dad checks out (finally) the reshafted irons  ..I reinjured the elbow the other day :D but pain is all relative..(just look at mother-in-laws)..so I'll load up on anti inflammatories and tylenol, fill every ice tray in the house and stick them in the freezer so I'll be ready for the chat room tonight.. ..I figure a little discomfort is a small price to pay for the therapeutic value of hitting golf balls with new clubs.. ..I love this game!!!!!!

shoe...good luck with the rehab on the arm! watch out with cortisone though, i had a few in highschool (i was a pitcher), and it left me with a bunch of scar tissue. gets sore as hell every now and again and i do have a recommendation, and its gonna sound silly...acupuncture. it has been the best thing i have ever done for the arm!

Sam..there's a thought I never considered...accupuncture..hummmm...I'm thinking the scar tissue issue (poetic eh) is a result of the injury not the cortisone...most of my joints hurt all the time anyway so pain is my friend...and I was once married to an extremely large pain in the ass..not friendly...I give this another week or so (had the shot yesterday) and hopefully the weather will get warm enough I can try swinging again...I really really really need to see what those TC shafts are like in the irons...I am not now and never will be a fan of delayed gratification.. ..

Well guys the Z 101 experiment has ended . Sold them today .

But all is not lost , picked up a new set of Mizuno MP-37's . :money: :smile1:

Played some holes today with them and let me tell you , what a difference .

I noticed it from the get go . Makes me wonder just what I was thinking about when I unloaded my 29's . :wah:

All that time wasted trying to get them to work and driving myself f**king crazy .

Have a great weekend and I hope that the guys in the sun belt get to play , those of you in the snow belt not much I can say

If I hadn't reshafted I'd have Iron Envy...I must have hit the 37's twice a week for 4 weeks trying to decide whether to change irons or just reshaft..love those clubs  ..as for driving yourself nuts that's part of the fun of being human...if I can't create my own chaotic clusterf*** betwixt my ears it's time for medication adjustment, I love doing stuff I'm really really good at and messing with my own head qualifies... ...

I look forward to hearing how your game improves now that you've gone back to blades..which will of course force me to try and sell a couple of children and an ex-wife into slavery so I can afford a custom set of 37's from Chris..after all it's all about one-upmanship...

Good Lawd am I glad this week is over. Had way too much fun in Dallas last weekend and paid for it Monday and Tuesday. Is there anything worse than being stuck in a freaking conference when it's 80 degrees and perfect outside? I was in one Thursday and Friday, man it sucked!

We're in the 80's all weekend! WOOHOO, read it and weep. Hope you guys can see your monitors from under all the snow.

Got the Motorola Razr yesterday in the mail and all I can say is wow. It's really, really cool. It's so small I guarantee I'll lose it.

Check out the new bag pics I posted. Mike good luck with the MIzzy's. I know you know how to use them, now get your ass out and post some low numbers.

Mike,

Good to hear about the new blades. They are sweet - liked them better than the 32's.

What shafts did yo get ?
