shoe295
Played Sunday in a scramble...Temp at the start was 34* with the wind out of the NNW at 28mph gusting to 40mph..the worst and I mean absolutely without a doubt there is no comparison WORST conditions I've ever played in...it was blowing so hard two balls fell off the tee before they could be hit...reminded me of sitting in front of my first wife when she was on a tirade :surprize: :blackeye: ...you know the scene in the cartoons when the guys hair goes straight back...even the tears froze before they could hit your face..Surprisingly there were 92 other guys who showed up..not all of them finished but they were there at the start...one of the guys I played with hit one downwind 367yds...which was really amazing cuz it was really hard to get anything up into the breeze...I think my daddy parts are permanently lodged in my chest cavity due to the frigid conditions :surprize: ....felt like I'd had a sex change operation due to the major suckage... ...the wind blew a putt in that I'd hit on the downhill side..simply amazing stuff... Went to a large demo day Saturday....that was truly a hoot considering it was about 45* with 25mph winds..gotta run now but I'll post more about that later... AKFLY
Played yesterday - first round with the Mizzy-37's I am still laughing. It was windy - and the front side is a links style course. Anywho- need to figure out my iron distances - hitting long and no more hook - makes for a difficult day - but it was fun testing out the irons. The R7 660 combo is freakin unbelievable. 4 days to go - and the bag must be settled - except for the putter.
shoe295
Andy...Nice iron choice, I really like those 37's..enjoy them.. on a side note I was at a demo day last Saturday and the Mizuno guy told me they were gonna be quitting the 37 line soon..course the guy is one of those who makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up and my nervous system developes a tendency to fire at random when he's around. I'm not sure if he's ever told me the truth or if I just don't trust him as he told me they were all sold out of MP 32's for the year???!!! Didn't ask what he meant by that because I can't be polite to him for what ever reason. I'll write a better report on the demo day when I get more time...it was quite an eye opening experience...all I'll say for now is ..Ping G2 and Tour Edge Exotics really really are impressive...
chainsaw
Well, I sort of broke out of my scoring slump. I played in a shamble yesterday which was a new format for me. Everyone plays out from the groups best drive and you take top two scores on par 4's, three on par 5's and everybody on par 3's. Our team shot a 197 with par being 188. I was really happy with the 33 I fired on the front and the 39 on the back was so so. Holed out 2 pretty lenghty birdie putts and 2 that were medium length. The highlight was chipping in for eagle on number two. I still am not hitting it consistently with the driver, still sort of all over the place. Improvement is improvement Mr. Saw...it's such a mental game most of the time....if my head starts to focus on what a weinie swing I'm putting on the ball the next thing I know is every swing is more weinie like than the last and pretty soon I might as well be hitting hot dogs...at least you got your day job :surprize:
AKFLY
Played yesterday and now the driver left me - oh well - still April - had fun anyway. Played in a scramble the day before - and I doo believe it threw off my tempo. I really feel like my swing changes will all eventually come together. Have really focused on the short game and it is paying off. No regrets with the mizzy's - but still gettin use to it. may play hooky Monday and stay in Michigan an extra day hit a course that I know is empty and just play all day. Saw thes pics of satinized mizzy's on BSG http://img77.echo.cx/my.php?image=mp330182hs.jpg So the question lies - to satinize or not. Was going to try and play today , but the weather got really crappy over night so passed on playing . Don't need to get sick again so soon after this last week . Hell I even cancelled out of a BBQ down on the beach here because of how cold I found it today  And if there is one thing I love it is a BBQ  A G2 . Hmmmmmmm!!!!!!!! You will have to let us know how you hit that stick dude . :smile1: And what is the shaft and loft .
chainsaw
Good Mike, you have a trip to make down here coming up so you have to be in tip top shape. It was about 85 here today, actually felt a little hot. The G2 is 10 degrees and has an Accra tour 70 in it. It's one degree open and from the WRX department. Lance I'll know Monday for sure if I can make it . But to tell you the truth I hope I can't :smile1: Cause that will mean my major and serious operation will be happening and I won't be able to leave the Vancouver area . In other words no travel outside a certain area . Basically will have a only a short time frame to get from my house to Vancouver when they call and then it is under the knife . :surprize: But god I hope it does happen sooner than later my friend . Big time .
Alcap26
Kipyl that sounds like a nice pick up. You will have to let us know how it is when you get it. Mike I think it is sufficent to say that we are all praying for you to get better. I hope that when you do go under the knife it is 100% successful and that you have one of the most rapid recoveries known to man. Got the MP32 a couple of days ago and am going to use them this weekend and then will more than likely get them reshafted to something more familiar. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. HipCheck
Crazy day today. I am contemplating just quitting at work tomorrow, the conditions are so bad. Consequently, my mind's going nuts, but I'm REALLY happy, b/c I see freedom around the corner. Anyway, today I start off with a triple. Then par the next two. Bogey, Par, then the wheels fall off. Shoot a 50 on the front w/3 triples!!! I tell my friend. "Who cares? I feel like I'm going to have a great back 9. So, back nine, I fire a 40 w/two doubles!. Totally different round. 3 putts burned the edge too. So do I quit tomorrow? I don't know.
shoe295
G2 is an awesome driver...I went back to the Ping guy 4 times so I could keep hitting it...10* with the Graffaloy shaft...very very solid feeling..no tingy kind of sound at all and just kept drilling the ball...put my 652 in that and it could be a killer..(or a Diamana which is something I would consider as the guy who built my driver and 4 wood is a dealer)...Speaking of 4 wood..the Royal Precision with the Zcom just SMOKES the ball...only hit about 15 balls but 5 of them went over 240 in the air..which is really long for 40* and 25mph crosswind... Mike...will add my prayers for your swift recovery from your surgery..
Alcap26
Well guys after fighting some kind of funk...(I think from playing in a two day tourny last weekend in high 40 degree temps with rain and strong wind) for the last few days I got to feeling better and played today. I still felt a little puny but I ended up shooting a 78 on a very wet course. Did not use the MP32...I hate Rifle shafts. Warmed up with them and put them back in the trunk and got the cobras out. I was not hitting the driver on the screws but was hitting it okay. Felt I did not have the strength to finish the swing. I tell you what I was quite congested friday...in the chest and head...coughing up some ugly stuff with a very painful cough. One of the ladies I work with told me to go home and make a hot toddy. I did and went to bed and sweat it out. It worked great. Anyway back to golf...I was a C man in our sunday group and the b man shot 70 and our A man shot 84. Great pairing huh. Oh well did not win any money but was pretty happy with my round considering I just felt tired the whole round. ALan
