What up homeboys?

Just got back from Vegas for the 4th of July holiday. 110° in the shade all week (dry heat, my ass).

No luck at gambling, but got the chance to take in all the sights.

Left my camera in a backpack in a cab....GONZO! That sucked. So I had to buy a new one. It's not too fun to have to take a cab to an electronics store...

One thing I did notice, is all of the women there are truly amazing looking. Chainsaw, I don't know how you can live there. Too dangerous. I'd walk into things all day :blackeye:

The scenery is rather amazing isn't it  I always love going to the airport because that's where the highest concentration of them is it seems.

Ohio sucks! I don't see how anybody could live there. I played a round at Shawnee Country Club which was pretty nice. I had to use a set of thrown together clubs. 704's w/S-300's, Vokey Wedges and Titleist 905T and 904 3 wood. Not bad for a thrown together set. It wasn't too bad of a set up other than the putter, an Anser2. I just can not putt with conventional putters any more. The greens were really nice and the course was in good shape. The greenskeeper must have gotten dumped the night before because the pin placements were rough. I kept hitting hole high right and having a longer 2nd putt than first because the ball would miss the hole and roll down the hill to the front of the green. It's was ugly, thought I was in a US Open for a little while.

The X-Tours should be here any day now. Just trying to decide what putter I want and what driver to go with. I'm torn between a 454 or a FT-3 in the driver slot and then a white steel or a dfx two ball.

Nothing new here other than I am getting ready to take my kids to camp for 6 days.

My game just plain sucks - Kind of like mud - all aspects just ar lack luster. I did manage to get my 6 year old son out for his first 18 holes- well more like 15 - as he was fading a bit.

Mike - hang in there buddy and good to hear from you.

Chain- go with the FT-3 - they are hot. I heard you could special order a Fuji 6. X tours should be perfect for you as you have always been a closet shovel lover - LOL.

Hey Guys . Got a chance to play last night . Shocked the S**T out of me .

Sarted birdie , birdie . 2 under . Had to chack to see if it was me or not

But came back down to earth after that . Doubled the 5th and 6th holes and ended up with a 76 +5 .

But I will take it as it was only my 4th game since May that was under 80 , now if I can play like that tonight I should have a lot of fun and win some money :smile2:

Thats all for now guys . Later .

Well I know how you fell Pete. Rain here from Tropical Depression Denise...Tropical Depression when it got to Tennessee...go figure. Did get to the range and the swing was rusty since I have not picked up a club in a week due to nagging neck pain...I can not do anything and it hurts or I can play golf and be in pain. Andy congrats on the first round with the son...I am sure there will be many more. I would take 76 right now Mike with the way the swing felt I figure a lot more tomorrow.

Glad to see you all survived the 4th without major injury!

Lance, I'm with Andy the FT-3 is the way to go, even I'm considering that one. But I think you need a Ping Doc-17 to add something really ugly to the bag that will focus everyone's concentration on your bizarre putter causing them to ignore the fact that you are removing all the $$ from their wallets.

Took my 5 yr old to the course with me..she didn't want to play but thought sitting in my lap steering the cart was to die for...think she'd have stayed for 36 if we'd had the time. Played the front with a retired gentleman who said the Illinois DNR had to kill off a bunch of the deer due to CWD infecting the herd. Now if they'd just do that to the geese...

Mike..your card sounds like mine..consistantly inconsistant

Enjoy all

I've actually considered trying out a DOC, just not the 17. I was thinking more along the lines of the 12.5. I'm going to try out a J33 until more of the FT-3's are around.

I'm suprised nobody lost a finger on the fourth. I know I probably should have. We put on a 45 minute fireworks show over the stock pond. We went to the fireworks stand and had our own personal shopper. They filled up three grocery carts with mortars and crazy packaged stuff. Then used propane torches to light the fuses and it took 45 minutes to go thru everything with three of us lighting continuously. I'm sure it was quite a sight in the Ohio cornfields.

It's nice to just stay home for a few weeks, I doubt I'm walking out of my house this weekend

45 minutes of continuous explosions...now we're talking....artillery barrage of the colored light variety.

the guy across the street had a couple of huge roman candle things that just kept launching colored balls into the air for what seemed like eternity but in reality was only 3-4 minutes at a time...seemed a little intense for a residential neighbor but was sure fun to watch..

am headed out this afternoon to play in the 93* heat..even at my age you can get loose on days like this

so I haven't even got my first full paycheck yet and I am already shopping.

I got the itch for a new flat stick... I'm thinking mallet... don't know why just feel like looking at something new.

No pete don't do it . Stick with the great putter you have now !!!!!!!!

Pete I have to agree with Mike...mallets are bad. Don't stop using that sweet putter you have.

On a different note how have the rest of you guys been? Andy, Mike, Shoe, Lance? Earlier this week I shot a 74 then went to play again and completely lost it. Actually was 2 under on the front nine (34) and then 40 on the back. Wish I could have shot 37 on the back for my first round under par. I am running out of summer time to accomplish this...back to work on August 1. I hope you all are having a great weekend.

I am glad to here somewhere in the world people are getting to play golf. Everytime I have a chance to get out on the course there are scattered tstorms. I got eight holes in the other day ago before being scared off... this is getting rediculous. About the only thing I can do is go to the range and that is getting real old!

Damn you weather!

I haven't been out of bed all week. I've been pretty under the weather and couldn't even think about getting out in this great 115* heat we're having. I'm feeling a little bit better this afternoon so hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel. I got some sweet stuff in the mail this week so I'm dying to get out and give everything a test drive. Maybe I'll be able to get out next weekend but it ain't looking good so far.

I have been dominating the tables at Full Tilt though. I'd be up @ 200 bucks this week playing in 5 and 10 sit and go's if Kristin hadn't raided my computer all liquored up on Friday night. While I was on my deathbed she was busy attempting to be the next Amarillo Slim. She failed. I've gotten some back but let's just say the account is now password protected

oh yeah I guess I didn't really update everyone...

Well I graduated in June and got a sweet job in Reading PA. My girlfriend moved up to Reading as well so we are living together. Life in Reading is a big change from Philly. We haven't really found a nightlife here and the restraunts suck.

So far the golf courses seem pretty typical and boring, but then again I've only seen 8 holes first person and a couple of layouts online. I don't have anyone to play with yet. My father lives on the other side of town and he is just starting out, but he doesn't feel ready for a big course yet. The other guys at work seem more into fishing than golfing... but I guess all things in good time.

It's private, but one of the nicest clubs is Reading Country Club. Play there if you can, but do it soon.

It's been sold to a developer to build houses on its land.

Yeah I got to try to get out there... it seems to be the trend around here to turn golf courses into developments. They are also ripping up a par 3 that is just perfect to take the whole family to. Sure its no National but its perfect for what it is. I'll be sad to see it go...

I for one love mallets..now that I can finally hit a ball farther than I can see, I need the extra alignment confidence a mallet gives me. Of course I can't see any farther than 245yds anymore so about half the time I have no clue where my drive ends up but I do feel much more comfortable with the mallet.

Took my 5 yr old to the course with me for the first time, she loved the ball washer and when she got tired of riding after 9 holes I let her sit in my lap and steer, which was a real hoot! I would go thru my routine and after my 1 practice swing before each shot she'd yell..." Da..ad! Just do it!" had me chuckling thru about half of my shots which I am using to explain the 83 I shot!

Played yesterday as the temperature was only 89*..bogeyed the first two holes, hit 14 of the next 15 greens and was even going into 18. Which I promptly doubled as my brain was seized by a giant gas bubble...sigh

If you ever get the chance to hit a Tour Edge exotic I highly recommend that you do so! This is the best ever 3 wood! I hit the damn thing almost as far as my driver and am able to hit little draws and even a little fade with it. The thing is remarkable...I'm going to look at the irons in the off season and if and when they come out with a driver it'll automatically make the list of possible replacements for my outdated TM mid.

That's it from the dought stricken land of cheese..ya'll take care..

oh yeah I forgot..am going to be filming an infomercial tomorrow at Butler National Golf Club in Oak Brook, IL..let you know about that after tomorrow..

I got the Red X and took it right to the course for a quick nine. I played like crap, but I got to say the putter felt great. Let the honeymoon begin! I chipped like I was using the wrong end of the stick which made my putting number look a lot worse than it was. I 17 putts over nine holes, 8 two putts and 1 one putt. NO THREE PUTTS! I really need practice at reading greens. When I was playing a lot in Augusta I would just be able to look at the line for a second and know where to putt, but now I look and I am puzzled. Other than lining up at the wrong side of the cup I was great. None of my second putts were scary. I can only hope the good vibes will continue.

Ah, Pete, congrats on the honeymoon....can the real one be far off???

My work sux right now, and so does my putting, so I went to Golfsmith at lunch for an extended 'putting session'.

Being a mallet fan, I hit everything I wanted to: Red X, X2, Cally Tour Blue Mallet, 2 Ball Blade White Steel, Voodoo Daddy, and a Monza Corza. Surprise surprise there was a Bettinardi BB16 with the copper insert in excellent condition there for $210, which is a good price. I was psyched to try out this heel shafted beauty but much to my dismay, it felt like it was a D-0 swingweight or something. Impossible to feel the clubhead during the stoke :(

The two winners were the 2 ball blade and the Monza Corza. I would have taken the 2 Ball in a second, but it's just too light. Really feels underweighted.

The Corza really doesn't look very good to me, but I putted best with it and it felt great. The entire face felt like the sweet spot, which is good, because at the saying goes, "It's not how good the good shots are, it's how good the bad shots are."

I actually put a bid on one on ebay tonight, but someone outbid me w/50 sec. left by 51 cents, but I didn't really feel like getting in a pissing contest, so I let him have it. :finger:

Hip: that honeymoon is still a safe distance down the road for sure! Tis the season to got mallet... Corza is one ugly ducking. Did you try those heavyputters... how freaking rediculous, but if it works for people it works. I know I walk my weekday rounds and my back can't take that kind of weight in my bag.
