drew030303
Looking into buying a Axiv shaft...SS 115-120, med-fat tempo, mid ball flight, 65grams. Currently play the Aldila Proto by you 60X. I've heard the Axiv's play softer, is that accurate? From what I've heard, they will play like a UST V2. I like the feel and response of the Speeder 757. I'm always testing new shafts and want something that is LONG. I will probably buy and EPON 460, but since they only come in 9.5, I will probably buy a shaft with a high kick to lower the ball to my preference. Any suggestions regarding whic Axiv I should use based on the info above. thx

It is a stable and accurate shaft with a mid-high kick to lower your ball flight. The Axiv V compared to the 757 is slightly lower. It has a penetrating ball flight with tight dispersion and will lessen bad left shots.
Blader-X
Having hit the Axiv-V's and reading your swing descriptin, 7080 sounds like a match for you. TourSpecGirl is right on!!

TourSpecGirl is right on!! Can I lay off it and still have the shaft perform? I'm tempted to go with the SX flex vs. X
Blader-X
Can I lay off it and still have the shaft perform? I'm tempted to go with the SX flex vs. X I can swing aggressive and smooth and still hit very well. I will say aggressive, but in tempo swings are well rewarded, but I do on occasion lay off of it and hit like a stinger or knock down shot and its fine. Of course you lose distance but I use that for when distance isn't an issue. I also use that swing to work on timing and control when I go out and spend 1/2 or 3/4 of a day at an all grass range I like to go to. I posted this thought in the shaft review section but you just need to really think about your swing and ask yourself which days do you have more of, really good ball striking days when an X flex is most beneficial or do you have less than stellar days more when the SX would still get it done, but an X would actually be hurtful. Also when you play a round do you go all out (but still in control) on each driver swing (then X), or do you tend to hold back more for control (then SX). I will say I like the 8076 a lot. It gives me what I want. I would love to hit the 8080 just to see what would be like. Actually right now, I'm trying to decide between it (the 8080) and the Diamana White Board to put in the new TourStage 3 wood. Good luck with you decsion. Is the EPon 460 conforming or Non conforming (usga)?
Blader-X
Is the EPon 460 conforming or Non conforming (usga)? Mine is conforming. They do make a non-conforming one but if you get it from Chris he'll only order the conforming driver if you don't specify. Of course, if you want the non-conforming one, Chris can get that as well. I believe if I remember the non-conforming has blue markings on the bottom. I know its in one of the older threads.
