Blader-X
I have a G-Field GFT 4 wood with an Epon 2007 3-wood on order. Once I get some rounds in I'll post a comparison between the two as far as feel is concerned. Won't be able to give any info on the TourStage however. Blader-X
Here you gohttp://forum.tourspecgolf.com/index.ph...c=23904&hl= Thanks yourpressed!! Please check out my review for info as well as pics. Below is a little extra info. I love to talk about these clubs especially when they go so well. The Epon is superb but with the QT shaft it is something else. I've played one more round since I wrote the review a few days ago. I used the 3wood off the tee and on a couple of occasions from the fairway just to see how it performed. Off the tee it was almost as long as my driver. I'm now thinking of switching out the AxivV in favor of the QuattroTech. My swing was working pretty well so I was able to see the Epon in all its glory. Trajectory is low but that is exactly what I was after and again it is 13.5 degrees. Its face heighth is a little higher than the G-Field but there's no problem hitting off the turf. I have yet to hit out of the rough with it but I would think the G-Field would have a slight advantage there with the rails on the bottomside. Both the Epon 3 wood and G-Field 4 wood will stay in the bag as they serve a couple different purposes for me. The feel of the Epon is much like the driver but the ball flight/trajectory is what I like the best. It just gets out there and stays at a constant height for much of its flight. Because of the angle of its lower trajectory it gets quite a bit of roll as well. I was thinking of maybe adding a 5 wood, but really like the 4wood so I'm staying pat for now. Of course, with all the new clubs coming out you just never know. I can definitely recommend the Epon Technity as well as the G-Field. Both are superb clubs. I haven't hit the TourStage so I'll let someone else chime in on that. I'm also becoming a big believer in Graphite Design shafts. The PT-8 is in the 4 wood and the new Quattro Tech in the 3. The PT-8 grew on me but now I'm very confident with it and the Quattro Tech was really love at first sight/swing. Great shafts and clubs. Slice1969
Thank you very much for the great review. First thing came to mind when I saw your pictures, is that the Epon FW has a deeper face, and it made me think about how well it will perform off-the-deck, and it seems like you were not having any issues with it, which is great. I know the G-Field is a great FW (even though I have not hit it), but I am really thinking hard about which one to get. I hope we can have some reviews/comparisons with the X-drive, so I can make up my mind... THank you again.

I would like to give some hint you gentlrman about selecting fw, however, I can only give you some idea about X-Drive fw. I ordered this beauty last december...and now i'm testing it for abour 1month practice session. Actually, I hesitated to select the right shaft between TX60 and QT75. But I finally chosed the TX60 stiff flex because I have some bias for tight feel FW shaft. When you considering the spec TX60(66g, 2.9torque) has, we can easilly think it as more tight than QT75. But in a word, TX60 is more side of whippy version. I mean it is not so tight. O.K then I will describe the overall feeling of this beauty more detail. 1. Head size I can dare to say "perfect". I am definitely hate the bulky head in terms of FW. Usually, TS launches a little bit bulky head size of fw (C300, C500, F-st, F-st+, VIQ and so on) without related to their performance. But from the X-st series, TS just step into the compact apprearance realm. Comparing those X-st and New X-Drive fw, I will raise the hand of X-drive fw. Furthermore, It looks pear shape. 2. Impact feeling It has more metalic sound bias. Comparing with TM V-Steel, it is far better metalic. 3. Trajectory It makes beautiful penetrating and fade bias curve. When addressing, the face sits deadly square. You can play out of the left side fairway. But I am not sure whether the result come from the head shape of shaft spec. But in my view, I seems from head shape. 4. Controllability You can get a hint from the name. It is not so easy handling one. If you want easy to take off from the tee and deck, you should go VIQ. But anyway it very interesting and challenging spec. 5. Shaft Generally speaking, TX60 is pretty good enough for usual golfer. But more tight feel bias golfer need to think other shaft such as stock QT65. Abovementioned is my feeling. I just want to be assistance of your chosing. Blader-X
Yes Zerohandy thanks for chiming in on the TourStage. I also like the TourStage from the way it looks. To me it exudes confidence and I think the way the sole is shaped it would do well from just about any lie. I was torn between the TourStage and the Epon when I was debating on the 13.5 degree 3 wood. I went Epon because I liked the fact I could get some custom specs with it, but it was a difficult choice for me. Really between the three clubs mentioned you couldn't go wrong. I think performance wise they would all be very close. It just comes down to choosing which one appeals to you as individual more. The one that appeals to you more will give you more confidence in using it. That and determining what you situations you would be using it for and which of the three fit into your gameplan. This year is tough choice as there are a lot of fine, quality clubs out.
+TourSpecGolfer
Hey Zero very nice review. I have the X-Drive FW also and its one of the best from looking down at it. Thing is there are so many killer FW's now its hard to choose one: Fourteen Royal Collection X-Drive FW Mizuno JPX EPON Technity Epon gets my choice once again, its steel, it feels like a mini driver, has a straighter and lower ball flight than the XD-FW with stock shaft, and its great from the tee. Im playing mine with the Mach Line 85g Proto FW shaft and its giving me killer distance. The only thing is that the GFT was a bit easier to hit off the deck.
