hey pepps...just bought myself an x-drive 460 w/ quattro tech shaft this past week...and after hitting it at the range for a few days all i can say is WOW. The impact sound is sharp and clean...and the shaft is just smooth. Unfortunately the shaft doesn't seem to be able to handle a harder swing...so i'm debating which shaft i should change out too. I was thinking about either the quattro tech 75 s flex or the axiv v. If anyone has hit the quattro tech 75 shaft, how does it compare to the quattro tech 65 shaft? And what would be the axiv v equivilent to the axiv 6568H shaft? thanks.

Quattro tech is a low kick shaft, and plays a little soft... 75 S isn't going to change much other than add 10 grams... Axiv is a midhigh but plays like a mid kick... the Axiv would be more stable and tip stiff... Look at the the P-7 GD also.

Everyone loves the Quattro, It is now #1 in Japan.

Is this in the order of your preference or popularity in Japan?

The Axiv-V 7068 is the closest to the 6568H. Same flex but just 2 grams heavier. Don't think you should switch out the Quattro from 65 to 75 as all your doing is changing the weight of the shaft not the swing characteristics. I can definitely attest to the Axiv-V line and the Graphite Design PT line as being very fine shafts able to withstand hard swings. I have QuattroTech 85 coming in a 3 wood that I'm very excited about.

Good luck with you decision. You may want to give the new driver a little more time before you make a final decision. Sometimes these shafts take a while to "grow" on you and what you thought you didn't like at first, you really come to enjoy. That's how it was with me and the PT-8.
