idrive
Someone has cleaned the bottom off. The vertical stamping, which would be beyond rare for that putter, should be on the other side of the circle T. I'm not sure it wasn't a Titleist Putter, Midslant longneck? Just not a circle T The script is wrong on the Vertical stamping too.
Jess123
Wasn't the vertical stamping of SC's name unique to Tiger Wood's SS putters? Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken about this. Looks like the bottom of the putter has been incompletely ground down. Fake Circle T from an old Newport?
idrive
The vertical stamping, which would be beyond rare for that putter, should be on the other side of the circle T. nevermind, just looked at a cirlce t putter I have and the circle t is on the same side like that. Just not veritcal stamping. Edited March 6, 2007 by idrive
acrazygolfer
My uneducated guess: Not a Scotty at all but another brand with the bottom completely sanded off of the marking, logo, etc. Why? Am a bit puzzled by the shape of the heel of this putter since the Newport and Newport 2 are both more angular at the top of the heel before being rounded off. It could be the angle of the camera when the pictures were taken. Scotty is a perfectionist and here: (1) the Circle T is too close to the word Titleist; (2) the spacing between the letters is not consistant; (3) the letters, especially the connector between the letters i, t, l, e, i and s, appear jerky and not smooth; (4) the letters l and e do not "flow" together and the l slants away from the e instead of toward the e; and (5) the words Scotty Cameron are out of proportion. I've seen a few putters with the stamping "Scotty Cameron" vertically below the neck but not one with the Circle T at that location. All the ones I have seen are red dots. drew030303
looks like it is a Titleist putter, possibly a pro platinum that had the bottom sanded and changed the finish. Then the circle T and vertical stamps were added by a third party. That's my guess. Edited March 6, 2007 by drew030303
small2iv
looks fine to me except the "Shadow" on the bottom and the sight line. and maybe only 1 "circle T" is enough.
+TourSpecGolfer
It was a pro platinum they re milled the face to remove the scotty text, ground the sole to remove the engraving and used a dremel tool to remove the sight line. They also put a very real looking T stamp on it but the scotty text is mis stamped. Head is only 300 grams after all that crap they did to it. ckay
Actually, the sole was not ground. It was welded and then ground. You can tell it was ground simply because it shadows through the finish. If it were ground down to the point where the engravings were gone you would not see the shadowing. Vertical stamping is only found on BBC and GSS putters. As far as the cavity, it is engraved rather than stamped. The Titleist script stamp does not fit properly into the cavity of the Newport heads so it is tilted with the right side slightly higher than the left to make it fit and then stamped. Where did you find that? I could definately see how noobs would fall for that as being authentic.
