Mjr. D
Hey guys, just about to place an order with Chris. It's taken me some time to figure out what exactly i want, but i'm pretty sure i've finally figured it out.............maybe minus the FW shaft. Let me know what you guys think...in terms of functionality etc. Not compliments or insults. Ha. Thanks Order: Epon Technity Driver 9.5 (neutral face, since i tend to slice) with Roddio Pentacross W-7WA X-flex (74g/3.5 torque) Epon Technity 13.5* fairway wood with (please let me know what you guys think) either the Mach Line Pro 80 FW X-flex (83g/3.1 torque/mid-high kickpoint) or Axiv V 8084 XX (84g/2.8 torque) or Diamana Whiteboard X-flex (84g/2.8 torque/high kickpoint) Tourstage X-UT 18* with Graphite Design UT-95 (97g/2.4 torque/mid-high kickpoint) Anyone know if this utility hits the ball naturally pretty high? I've heard Tourstage's X-UT hits the ball much higher than Bridgestone's equivalent. Anyone know of any other shaft options in the same weight category as the UT-95? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks. P.S. I'm also ordering a plethora of wedges, still in the deciding process for those though. Man i love golf.
gocchin
Very nice choices! The X-UT hits the ball pretty low actually. The UT-95 is a good shaft, they should pair well together and the trajectory should still be pretty low to mid even with your swing. Go for the Machline Pro80 FW, it's specifically made for a fairway wood and is in the bag of several Japanese tour pros now and they love it. Mach Line is very meticulous when it comes to calculating shaft rigidity and flexes so this shaft will be great.... I'm dying myself to try Mach Line. Duffer19
If you tend to slice the ball, why would you be ordering a 9 or 9.5 degree square driver? Either you are casting or playing a big cut which, in traditional wisdom calls for a close face. I understand one might have to get use to when addressing but I am not talking a 3 or 4 degrees close as in XXIO or other JDM. With Epon, you should be able to get a 1 or 1.5 degree close face and probably a 10.5* loft. I have not play the shafts mentioned hence cannot comment. With your slice, I would think a lower spin shaft like the White board might work to your advantage.
shinichi808
sweet choices...i'm thinking about ordering the epon 13.5* 3 wood too. i think for your driver you might want to try the roddio w-8wa (85.5g/2.7tq) cause of the heavier weight or the w-7ba (79.5g/3.6tq) since you said you slice the ball. as for the x-ut, for me it goes high...this is with the stock ns pro shaft in stiff. maybe just replacing it with a matching (to your iron set) 1 or 2 iron steel shaft might help keep the trajectory down. but yea good luck with your decisions...should be an awesome set! Jess123
Last I heard, Endo has not made the new Roddio shafts an Epon 460ZR factory shaft choice option- yet. If you already have an Epon driver though, you could always send it to Chris to be reshafted with a new Roddio. Chris, correct me if I'm wrong. +TourSpecGolfer
Your correct. We have to install the Roddio for you. We have some left so just drop us a PM when ready.
