mulligan7
How does this compare to the Precious Edition already offered? Still have not heard much feedback on these, but they look great.

Duffer19
Chris, What is this interesting shaft on the 3 wood? I see Korean but cannot make out the name except 'Only Unique".
K2_2
Duffer, I know the older Oziks say 'The one' in Korean and quite a few other langugages, so maybe this is one of the clubs made up with a TP-7 that Chris mentioned in the original post? +TourSpecGolfer
I apologize in advance for being critical in the following, keep in mind we do sell a lot of Miura product and I'm just being my usual honest and blunt self in order to educate our members. There is a misconception that Miura has the highest quality product when in reality they are looked down upon by almost every foundry in Japan. Reason being is that all of their irons are 2 pieces ( spin welded ) even generic smaller brands with less cash don't dare to cut corners in that way. Why do they do this? Well its far cheaper per head but more important they don't need to tie up tooling charges for each and every loft. Only in the USA and UK do people consider Miura a top notch forging. If you take a look at Chinese foundries they wont use spin welded hosels. When OEMs need to produce a Tour Issue set of irons of course they ask Miura, the price is simply a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere and Miura will produce smaller amounts for them. Other factories have a minimum order along with tooling charges per each loft. Just a ball park figure but spin welded is usually 30% cheaper than one piece, also Miura will pay only around 12-15k for tooling on one set of irons while everyone else who build clubs with true quality need to pay 95,000+ on the same tooling in a one piece head. Believe it or not many of the large OEMs cant afford to produce their retail or Tour clubs at Endo because its more expensive and the minimum orders are too high. Some say it cost's 40% more to purchase from endo vs elsewhere and if you look close, majority of the worlds best players are using Endo forgings. hmm I wonder where tom Stites and Rodger Cleveland get their raw heads from? Lets talk Mizuno for a sec. GOOD stuff! double forged J.I.S grade. most himeji brands quad forge clubs, I would rate Chuo plant number 2 behind Endo, Chuo makes AMAZING feeling product but cant do complicated cavity back design and other advanced features. Whatever the case Mizuno's Chuo and Endo are two of the best. Kudo's to Mizuno for using both plants, and Kudo's to Callaway for using Japanese Forging again with their X-Forged and X-Tour Wedges. Ok so back to this FW, Quality of manufacturing is just not there, of course these pics make it look good but to give you guys an idea, it reminds me of Gauge Design Japan's very first fairway wood in how the face and its lines look cheap. 2nd generation will for sure be better, and so on. I must warn that perhaps only I and few others are this critical to pick things apart like this but I feel it makes interesting reading for you guys to know the real inside scoop. To continue my rant lol, USA tour players do not receive the best equipment possible. Ask a tour rep who has worked both tours and they will tell you that USA professional golfers are easier to work with because they simply take the club you build and hit it, where as in Japan the player will request all sorts of custom options requiring extra tooling made, like less offset, different shape etc.. In USA only several players get their own tooling. the rest have to have things hand ground. Same deal with shafts the U.S players have to wait a while before the technology trickles down to them from Japan. IMO best of the best is cold forged double pressed 1020 J.I.S grade steel from Endo. Its very soft yet not mushy. That said I hit this Miura FW with my good ol PT-7 installed and it flys well. The setup is nicer than most and distance is average, The 15* went a bit higher than my GFT 16* built at the same specs and it was not as straight as the GFT but I actually like this FW more than my Royal Collection. Again thanks for tolerating me as I split hairs.
corky3
we appreciate a) your candor and b) the inormation...... this is what seperates TSG , we get good great insights and a personal opinion, but one that is just put out there without reading like some political manifesto... re. Miura forgings..... IME they are always well behind anything that is produced by Endo. ONe of the reason why Tourstage offerings at the the top end, are always of the highest quality.
