I just caught the news that Ryo Ishikawa became the youngest winner on the Japan PGA at 15!!! Congratulations are in order for this young man.

He's also the first amateur to win on the JPGA since... Masahiro Kuramoto back in 1980.

Now, can anyone figure out what's in his bag? :tsg_smiley_question:

T, I just wanted to throw up some exciting news from Japan, I didn't expect anyone to have an article on his equipment... you are second to none!

Cheers.

He appears to be a Titleist man/boy but he's still an amateur so they are not talking about his gear much... I will keep digging... they are all just talking about his 300 yard drives at 15 years old...

ok guys, not gonna be the biggest help, but i found something in Golf Style Vol. 28 September 2006

now I can usually decipher the clubs and specs by looking at them and just knowing the brands, but his are tough as I have never heard or seen of them before, now with this being over 6 months old as well he could have very well switched but this is what he had in the bag i assume at the Japan amateur

the only thing written on the soles of the Driver, 16* wood and 19* wood is SOLID CONTACT

driver specs: 44.75" fuji 70C S-Flex 9.5* D1

16* and 19* fuji 70C S-flex

the irons i have never seen before they are a forged cb, that would most resemble a tourstage nb-32, however they are definately NOT any of the big japan manufacturs

they are 3-PW with the 5 iron at 37.5" D1 graphite shafted i believe 90 S-Flex

52* wedge is a stock vokey black nickel

58* wedge is a stock vokey oil can

Putter is a scotty cameron studio style newport 2

Ball is the pro V1x

*now judging by the wedges, putter and ball, titleist very well have give him irons and woods as someone mentioned he maybe all titleist.

sorry i couldnt do any better, they are clubs i have never seen before which doesnt happen too often as i can usually decipher most if not all

Hi Tourstage_Bape,

No need to apologize, and thanks for taking the time to dig all of that out! Cheers.

His driver and putter he used to win the KSB Tournament were from Solid Contacts. They are a small company located in Tokyo. Just checked there website and obviously no reference to Ryo as he is still an amateur.

Sorry for my lateness on this... Ryo's bag:

Solid Contracts Driver

Yonex Nano V 3 Wood

Solid Contracts 2 iron hybrid prototype

Yonex Cyberstar Forged 3-PW DG S200

Titleist Vokey 52* and 58*

Putter Solid Contracts Ryo Prototype

Ball Titleist V1x

He occasionally subs in 3 and 5 woods from Solid Contracts

gocchin, have I ever told you, you are a genius?? (I know I have)

The Yonex 3 wood is a beauty!!

Any chance Gocchin or TourSpecGolfer could get one of the 2 iron prototype irons/hybrid?

That would be really hard to get. It's from Solid Contacts, I don't think Ryo is playing that anymore and I'd have to see if it even went reatail.

Do they have a website? Can you order/get any of their produts?
