Posted May 20, 200717 yr comment_134855 I just caught the news that Ryo Ishikawa became the youngest winner on the Japan PGA at 15!!! Congratulations are in order for this young man. He's also the first amateur to win on the JPGA since... Masahiro Kuramoto back in 1980. Now, can anyone figure out what's in his bag? Edited May 20, 200717 yr by K2_2
May 20, 200717 yr comment_134863 I think there was a recent article in one of my mags... let me check. ^^
May 20, 200717 yr Author comment_134865 T, I just wanted to throw up some exciting news from Japan, I didn't expect anyone to have an article on his equipment... you are second to none! Cheers.
May 20, 200717 yr comment_134866 He appears to be a Titleist man/boy but he's still an amateur so they are not talking about his gear much... I will keep digging... they are all just talking about his 300 yard drives at 15 years old...
May 20, 200717 yr comment_134867 Look out Tadd, he's a year younger...Tadd missed the cut @ Chunichi.
May 20, 200717 yr comment_134868 ok guys, not gonna be the biggest help, but i found something in Golf Style Vol. 28 September 2006 now I can usually decipher the clubs and specs by looking at them and just knowing the brands, but his are tough as I have never heard or seen of them before, now with this being over 6 months old as well he could have very well switched but this is what he had in the bag i assume at the Japan amateur the only thing written on the soles of the Driver, 16* wood and 19* wood is SOLID CONTACT driver specs: 44.75" fuji 70C S-Flex 9.5* D1 16* and 19* fuji 70C S-flex the irons i have never seen before they are a forged cb, that would most resemble a tourstage nb-32, however they are definately NOT any of the big japan manufacturs they are 3-PW with the 5 iron at 37.5" D1 graphite shafted i believe 90 S-Flex 52* wedge is a stock vokey black nickel 58* wedge is a stock vokey oil can Putter is a scotty cameron studio style newport 2 Ball is the pro V1x *now judging by the wedges, putter and ball, titleist very well have give him irons and woods as someone mentioned he maybe all titleist. sorry i couldnt do any better, they are clubs i have never seen before which doesnt happen too often as i can usually decipher most if not all Edited May 20, 200717 yr by tourstage_bape

June 26, 200717 yr comment_136679 His driver and putter he used to win the KSB Tournament were from Solid Contacts. They are a small company located in Tokyo. Just checked there website and obviously no reference to Ryo as he is still an amateur.

November 27, 200816 yr comment_153152 Any chance Gocchin or TourSpecGolfer could get one of the 2 iron prototype irons/hybrid?
November 27, 200816 yr comment_153156 That would be really hard to get. It's from Solid Contacts, I don't think Ryo is playing that anymore and I'd have to see if it even went reatail.
