Posted June 4, 200717 yr comment_135548 I would like to hear from those who have actually hit these irons. I have a set of JPX E500s which feel a bit "thin", although that observation comes from hitting GD NC-1s and Type Js which may be comparing apples and oranges. Wondering if these are more solid in terms of feel compared to the JPXs. Also interested in comparing these with other mid-sized irons, particularly the VIQ forged.

Hoping Randy would chime in since it appears he was considering the E500s as well but has moved on to the R7 forged. I was looking at the GRs in store and don't mind the channel. It appears the GRs have more muscle in the toe and heel area and was thinking that it would feel a bit more solid than the JPXs. I agree that TS quality remains high with this set.
June 4, 200717 yr comment_135554 I did move on to the R7 forged, or back to them as this is my second set of them. Never did try the E500s. Didn't want to spend the money without first seeing them. To me the GRs are quite a bit more forgiving than the R7 forged and feel almost as good IMHO. As I stated in a previous post, I was surprised at how well the GRs felt with the undercut. To me better feel than the EPON Type X and Callway X tour. The only reason, other than being a Golf Ho, that I got rid of the GRs was because of the light stand NIPPON shafts that were in them. I had taken them to my club fitter to have the shafts changed, but he wound up buying them from me. Now this has gotten me to thinking about getting another set and changing out the shafts. June 5, 200717 yr comment_135576 Sugoi, I have hit a demo 7 iron of the xblade gr, and was also impressed by the softness of the club despite its undercut design. I have hit old honma tour world undercut irons and the callie xtours as well, and second Randy's comments as to the feel. In fact I had to ask the dealer if these irons were forged because they don't have the usual stamping. The ball flies high as anticipated. I may come into a deal for either the gr or the standard xblade cbs. If I pull the trigger on the gr, I will try to post my impressions asap. But they will be based on nspro950 s flex shafts.

Willy, Let me know your impressions on the CBs as well. I have the option of purchasing either set and a comparison would be useful. Unfortunately, I do not have the option of having demo irons available to me for these.

When there I saw them being made. If they are also made at ENDO thailand there is no difference the steel is imported from Japan. Tourstage usually uses endo for the majority of their forgings. These IMO do feel more pure at impact than the Type X.
June 6, 200717 yr comment_135612 chris: how about the viq forged from tourstage? i'd assume premium endo forging as well? i've had these in my bag for four rounds and have never hit more greens in regulation than i have with these.
