mauiatheart
I was looking into getting aTourstage X-Drive 460P and was looking for any feedback from those of you lucky enough to own one. What's your thoughts? Does the X flex play like a US X flex? I heard some rumors that it plays a little soft for a X flex. Let me know. Thanks. This driver is low launching and low spin. It also is a fade machine. You need to have the swing speed to play this driver or you will have a expensive mistake. IMO the 430p is a better and more friendly driver.
Goshinboku
I might get blasted for this, but yes. you are essentially getting a tour quality driver here. If you can handle it for sure pick one up. I was not a fan of the proto gd that came in there, just didnt like the feel at all. So I put my staple driver shaft the fuji 771TA in it. I am tempted to try a roddio however...
Forte
The 460P is fade bias while the regular 460 is draw bias. Get a shaft that works for you.
bruinduke
Would a 9.5° 430P head and a 9.5° 460P head launch the same if both had the same shaft, and all things about the swing being equal? Is it just the GD proto X flex shaft that makes the difference between the 2 drivers? Or does the design difference in the 430P and 460P design make 9.5° marked heads play differently? Hope this isn't too much of a threadjack...I am interested in finding either head, but want to understand the difference as well.
Forte
I think the 460(P) is more forgiving but the 430P head is longer from all tests. Launch should be the same for both 9.5 heads depending on the quality control tolerances.
mauiatheart
Thanks for the input. I pulled the trigger and picked one up. I am headed for the course tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. I hope it helps tone down my draw.
mauiatheart
Got out on the course today. No warm up balls, straight to the first tee. The 460P straightened out the strong draw (hook). Now a gentle draw. Unless I panty out and don't swing at the ball. If I don't put a decent swing, the ball fades. All in all a good pickup. Hope the honeymoon doesn't end soon.
