bogeydog
Anyone know the list of custom options available for EPON irons? Can headweight of the heads be custom?
gocchin
Usual length loft lie, finish, shafts.... also they can engrave/stamp names, words etc. I can't see why they couldn't vary head weights but Chris would have to confirm that. +TourSpecGolfer
Flat Black, Copper, Brushed Satin, & Chrome. Its about 55.00 per club head to change the finish. For deep sole engraving its 300.00 for the setup charge and 6.00 per letter engraved.
jacksonlui
how much can one vary the lofts from factory specs before it starts to look distorted and the bounce becomes ineffective? the Epon iron lofts are pretty strong to start
idrive
how much can one vary the lofts from factory specs before it starts to look distorted and the bounce becomes ineffective?the Epon iron lofts are pretty strong to start The J's PW loft is 46* and then work down 4* to the next loft down to the 5 iron. Pretty standard and almost weak compared to some. The most loft I've seen (in recent years)for a PW is 48* with 4* drops. Seems that a lot of the game improvement irons, 46* is considered weak. 44 and 45* PW is almost normal anymore with some 5* drops down to the 9 and 8 iron. I'm assuming you are looking to weaken the lofts. This will of course add a bit more bounce to the clubs. Unless your playing conditions are a bit softer than most I'm not sure that would be the best idea. However, bending the clubs 2* weaker, it's possible you may not even notice the difference in the bounce. I don't think a 2* bend would look distorted at all. I'm not sure you'd notice the difference by looking. IMO I play with a set of J's now (technica pro 1's) and am very pleased with the lofts. The bounce set up seems to play just right for me. I have bent my 52* gap wedge to 51* and have excellent coverage thru the yardages. I'm already designing my nest set of EPON's for when the new models become available. This custom engraving thing is going to be fun. Edited August 28, 2007 by idrive

jacksonlui
thanks iDrive for the useful information. sounds like you're advocating no more than 2 degrees bend in lofts. I personally don't like the strong lofts only because of the gaps but if I weaken them, the trajectory will be higher than designed. tough choice.
