The target audience is lower handicappers looking for a smaller more solid feel. They recommend swing speeds of 100mph and above for this driver. It is longer front to back but less potruding in the heel area to give it more of a pear shape. The face is shallower and is considerably longer heel to toe. Comes with a special Tour Design Diamana shaft: Carbon red pearl like finish on the crown: Tested to produce far more carry than the X Drive 460, due to it's lower center of gravity and higher trajectory and lower spin (Orange bar is carry): Available in 9.5 and 10.5 lofts.

September 28, 200717 yr Author comment_142205 Face angle is square on this driver, not fade biased bit made to go straight. It's interesting they actually describe the crown as black ion plated with a red spider web like design.
September 28, 200717 yr comment_142208 Now that is a beautiful driver! I think Chris had some Tourstage drivers refinished ~ 2 years ago, and then Tourstage had some black prototypes last year. I'm very excited to see them come out for the masses!

September 29, 200717 yr comment_142242 I'm getting closer and closer to making my first purchase of a TS driver, they keep getting better! God knows the irons are nice. I'm a fade bias guy so I too wish they made the 460P in 10.5*. Problem is when you open a driver face up and the actual loft is 9.5* it ends up in the 8* range which is kinda tough for mere mortals (especially short ones like me!). Chris you have there ear, what do they say?
September 30, 200717 yr Author comment_142298 After doing research on this club, it turns out that it's already in play on the JPGA by Hideto Tanihara and Yusuke Miyazato, Tourstage's two big young guns. The stock B07-05 Tour Design shaft is in fact the Tour Only Diamana BLACK prototype. Mid kick, low spin, 2.8* of torque with a bend profile right between Blue and White. Looks like a winner.

Friend here 'confirmed' that... ie he read something online and said 'hai, tungsten desu.' Actually, these pictures of the iron and utility make them look a bit more appealing. However, have you guys seen pictures of the top of the driver? From the photos I found this week it looks a bit like the top of the new TM Burner... a bit less traditional than I was hoping for, although I'll reserve judgement until I can actually see one.

The screw is most likely a tungsten insert lowering the center of gravity, thereby increasing the ball flight. cool! im actually looking for a new utility iron. i used to use the ping fli hi irons 3/4 then switched to the mizuno mp fli hi then replaced them to hybrids. im actually considering the new on/off driving irons but these look so much more apealing to me.
October 11, 200717 yr Author comment_142941 Also placing a tungsten weight towards the toe helps eliminate hooks and pulls. It's meant to keep it toe weighted and face open for more workability and fade bias...

These things are so unforgiving. The name of the game is to lower one score/handicap isn't it? True, but the driving iron has been popular in Japan for sometime. TourStage probably just wanted to capture that market and also for those who like the look of an iron as opposed to the utilities. Not everyone has embraced their (utilities') advantages. I've also noticed that TourStage loves the tungsten insert. They seem to putting that in all kinds of irons. Even my X-blade 2's have a tungsten insert in the 3,4 and 5 irons and they're blades! I think with this driving iron, TourStage just was looking to make a more forgiving version and appeal to those who identify with the reasons I stated earlier. Just my take.
