Henry
Chris, do you think Tourstage will come out with another version of the ViQ Forged Irons or any other products soon?
+TourSpecGolfer
Yes new ViQ forged coming around March.
ClubHoUno
Why would one play a driving or ut irons (unless you are a low single) when you can play an easier wood like hybrid or fairway wood? These things are so unforgiving. The name of the game is to lower one score/handicap isn't it? Not everyone feels comfortable over a hybrid wood like club. Do they hit it like a wood or like a long iron ? People tell them to hit it like a long iron, but it still looks like a small wood head. This means a lot feel more cofortable using a more forgiving like long iron with large cavity pocket and sole for added forgiveness. I prefer the look of a long iron, but still hit my Titleist 585H and Adams Idea pro hybrids pretty well. I'm definitely going after the Epon AF-501 or the Tourstage X-ut driving iron for the next season. I control a long forgiving iron better than a hybrid head. Goshinboku
I have a crown pic of the 445 x-drive, I will take a picture tomorrow in good light and post it, its different to say the least. nice with no alignment aid, but the red grid maybe a little distracting. gocchin
Here you guys go... a lot more red on top than I expected...

kwantfm
I wonder if the camera has emphasised the amount of red on the crown?
gocchin
I wonder if the camera has emphasised the amount of red on the crown? Most likely yes, and also a lot will depend on the angle you're looking at. The first pic of the top looks better, the second one from more of a back angle looks radioactive. landshark
new viq forged? they just came out with a new viq forged this year. why would they put out a new model so quickly? Edited October 13, 2007 by landshark
gocchin
new viq forged? they just came out with a new viq forged this year. why would they put out a new model so quickly? They've decided to release an entirely new designed ViQ lineup, driver, fairway woods, irons and utilitles so the forged is redesigned as well but releasing 4 months after the others. gus
I kinda like it; why not try something a bit different. It almost looks a bit racing inspired. I do like the size; 445cc sounds just about right.
gocchin
Definitely very high tech looking! I guess the most important thing is if it performs but that look will definitely be a personal thing.
EPONfreak
I love the classic look of Tourstage...... but that crown would be very distracting at address? especially in bright sun? Definitely very high tech looking! I guess the most important thing is if it performs but that look will definitely be a personal thing. dorkman53
That reddish, gauze-like look is very similar to the SMT Babylon. Not the greatest cosmetically, IMHO, but I'm sure some people will really like it, though.
Fred_Womble
I just got a 435 X-drive that's a year or so old. After looking at the new version, I wouldn't trade. Why mess with a classic, beautiful look that is subtle and dramatic at the same time? This screams out for attention, which anyone who knows Tourstage knows is not necessary. Bummer. EPONfreak
Has anyone hit this driver yet? I am especially interested in a comparison between this and the Epon. This one may be just what I am looking for.......also, are custom shafts available? Edited October 27, 2007 by TMfreak
gocchin
Mid November release so no one here has hit it yet...
EPONfreak
Mid November release so no one here has hit it yet... that would make it hard to get feedback lol..... is it in play on the JPGA?
gocchin
Yup it sure is... around 3 or 4 guys are hitting it now and love it.

taipanli
I've got both the 9.5* and 10.5* stiff coming upon release. Will be keeping the one giving better results on the simulator and selling the other. The shaft does look absolutely perfect for me and I'm so glad it's the stock shaft. If the X445 is even better than the X460, I will be in heaven!
K2_2
Guys, the driver does not look that red in normal indoor lighting, and I've hit it outside where, again, it didn't look that red to me. Caveat... the club I tried was an early release/demo, so when the 445 hits the retail floor, it could look a bit different. TMFreak, the feel is very, very solid; it felt similar to the 430P, but I was trying the 430P with a QuattroTech, so I was partial to that club because the shaft fit be swing a bit better. Some other guys playing 430P's and 460's said the 445 seems a touch more forgiving, but they hadn't done an in depth comparison at the range or on the course. Unfortunately I haven't been able to compare the 445 to the Epon. Edited October 28, 2007 by K2_2
gocchin
So the X-Drive is getting rave reviews everywhere.... and it's not as red as I expected in real light. I know chris has one and should be posting some awesome pics here soon but in the mean time here are more pics off the web.

gocchin
Yeah it's not quite as red when outdoors and really standing above it. Bat does that mean you're getting one? (^_^)
