This bad boys looks very nice; do we have any feedback yet? I know it mentions 12/28 release in the Pro Shop but I was hoing to hear the buzz. Is this an MOI driver? This guy loaded with an Ozik F7M2 would be something to behold; almost like art.

I think the release was today , and I have'nt heard of any early allocations so we should be hearing something soon. I am for sure going to try one.

There are a bunch of reviews out in all the new magazines I just go today. I'll look through them and post some feedback and scans this afternoon.

Most of the reviews that have been out are on the standard ONOFF Driver a couple on the black Plus.

The general gist I see is that the drivers are getting their best ratings ever for an ONOFF driver... we're talking Tourstage and XXIO type rating scores from reviewers which have long been favorites in the Japanese market.

Feedback from recreational players have been very positive for the ONOFF driver saying easy to hit and good distance. Higher trajectory type ball and a driver that helps slicers.

The black Plus is getting comments (a lot for looks!) but also for ease to work the ball and nice feel. Stock shaft a little on the soft side. Let me check for more...

I love the look of the black model; what cool lines. This is on my short list right now; just want to see the in hand pics and get some critical data; face angle, headweight, etc. Thanks again Gocchin for the update; I would love to be one of the first to use this driver and do a full review with pics.

The comment also on the ONOFF Plus is that it's not big like many of the new drivers today. It's still a more traditional shaped head from up top with a deep face. The face angle is listed as square but it's not uncommon for all PLUS models to be measured at 1* open. This was commonly the case with ONOFF's previous generation Plus driver.

Interestingly though the feedback from two pros have been that it has great impact for distance... and is easy to draw but not as easy to fade (could be the shaft contributing a bit to that too)

Pretty forgiving face. Traejectory a little on the high side but produces good hang time.

So far so good; I like what I hear. I was hoping it was had some kind of MOI thing going but traditional is good too. Based on the discription in the pro shop it indicates D3 at 44.75' which is absolutely spot on for me; not sure what the stock shaft weight is; didn't nitice it. I hope that maybe I can get an upgrade X-flex with minimal added expense. If not; I will order it with the stock shaft and re-shaft with an Ozik F7M2 I have sitting in my office. Chris; can this old timer be one of the first? I will post great pics and do a fair review.

Actually looking at the discription again re-shafting might be an issue; it appears to have a hossle insert similar to Callaway. It might be permanently fixed more like a Titleist 905R but who knows; the upgrade shaft option might be the easier way to go; not sure if they even offer such upgrades.

Unfortunately there is no X-Flex in the stock shaft which is 60g. It isn't a Callaway deep bore type hosel as far as I know... and I just checked and it still seems as if they are still offering a hosel adapter to change the face angle. I think also down the road Roddio will once again be offered with these drivers.

I don't think there is a standard X flex in the stock shaft (which is a bit over 60 g's if memory serves). You could ask about the Labospec shaft upgrades, which fall in between the standard shafts and Roddios as far as pricing. One caveat though, I haven't ever taken a labospec driver shaft on a monitor or onto the course.

Here are some specs:

Smooth Kick 105; S and SX at 81 and 82 grams respectively, 3.8* of Torque, recomended for swings up to about 107 for S, or SX if you are over 107 mph.

Smooth Kick 109; S and X at 70 grams each, 3.6* of Torque, same swing speed recomendations as the 105.

I think the 105 was about $100 more, the 109 was a bit less, only about $50 more.

Thanks Gocchin; the pics look great; yes she appears to be very black. Once we figure out if they have custom shaft upgrade options or at least more info on the hossle (can or can't re-shaft) I will move forward and place an order with Chris.

like the '07 labo spec from onoff made for the JPGA tour, this '08 plus model appears to have the clock style ferrule, it is very similar to cally's tour only clock style ferrules in which you can dictate and manipulate face angle.

if you are gonna re-shaft this make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing, I am sure TSG works would be a good choice

The Labo spec shafts are pretty high quality, remember ONOFF, Labo spec, Roddio are all Daiwa so they share many of the same technology and manufacturing.

Hi Ben, the specs above are for two different Labo shafts, one that comes in SX, and one X.

Wow !!! the head looks good but, if the club has a sleeve in the hosel thats a bust for re-shafting hmmmm.

I'm hearing through the grape vine that they are having some kind of problem with the heads cracking or maybe the hossle inserts cracking. I do not know the specifics and can't validate that as true. Worth looking into before we purchase these. OK, moving on maybe the new Yamaha driver for the better player is nice.

I love the ONOFF brand and concept and we are very close to them, but what initial reviews from our supporters in Japan say that the performance is sub par and and not all that great. Combine that with the fact they dont supply support or hosel adapters for non authorized accounts Its in my humble opinion they are not the best choice with so many high performance and highly rated drivers on and coming to the market this year.

Thanks for the info Chris. I was set on the onoff but now I looking to another option the new Yamaha new x drive or something else that comes are way. That would of bee a bust to get a big money driver and find out having hosel problems down the road.
