bogeydog
Ok I am going to be the guinea pig. I ordered a set of the Inpres X V Forged AND Tour Limited, 4-PW. They just look so good to me and the "word" seems to be pretty strong even though nothing said here by any forum members. I will test them and see which set I will work with and likely sell the other. I may end of changing the shafts, but we will see. X V Forged - Slightly longer, lower center of gravity, slightly more offset although still relatively low compared to others. Limited - More compact, different trajectory, little offset. Keep your fingers crossed. Edited January 6, 2008 by bogeydog

Blader-X
Sweet. When you do get them if you could at all possible measure the thickness of the topline of both. I too am very interested in these irons. Something about them just looks very appealing.
quik022
I was in tokyo before new yrs for vacation, and got a chance to hit the new yamaha forged (non tour version) at the net victoria store in shinjuku. They are extremely soft and looks very very nice as well....one of the nicest looking irons i saw along with the fourteen tc550s. Even the salesman, who spoke very little english, smiled at me and said "soft huh?" after I hit my first shot with them. I wish I have the game for it, but being a 20 handicap and fairly new to the game, I decided to purchase the jpx e500 instead.

Must be high in demand because the Tour was tough for Chris to get and the non-Tour are shipping mid-Feb. I think the Tour will be here first. I want to know myself! +TourSpecGolfer
The Tour Limited Endo Forged Version is already sold out in Japan. TSG only has a couple sets left. Not many sets were made and we didn't expect them to go so quickly.
gus
Bumber; I was really interested in the tour model. They look like a really tight set of irons.

gocchin
What happened is that in Japan more than half the sets had sold on preorder even before launch... then after they came out, the reviews were fantastic... that coupled with both Yamaha's top two pros performing well on tour with these irons and being Endo forged pretty much cleared out the rest. 700 sets pretty much gone in one month. You know with that kind of success, you would have to think that Yamaha would think about issuing another few hundred sets. Any chance of that do you think? dkjscout
It may be apples and oranges…but… 1. How does the Inpres X ‘V’ Forged compare to the forged Srixon 701s? Both are forged Endo products… 2. How does the Inpres X ‘V’ compare to the Miura CB 1006? Feel? Size? 3. Gocchin-san mentioned both the Inpres X ‘V’s and the Miura 5003s were garnishing great reviews by the golf press in Japan. Now, after their intro ‘newness’ period, is there a hands-down favorite? Or are these both champs in their separate corners? DKJ

bogeydog
Ok here are a few pics. I have also compared with the Epon AF-301. I don't have Gocchin's and Chris' picture taking ability, but I tried. Let me say that if you like low offset CB irons, these are it. The offset is very small. Setup is excellent. The top line is essentially the same as the Epons. The length of the head seems the same. The overall head shape is a bit taller at the toe and slightly more square. The sole is wider and seems to be almost a 3 cut sole. The leading edge is slightly blunted, but not as much as the Epon, The back edge is has a grind that lessens the balance there. I can only assume that it lets it sit open if you want. The CB is slighly deeper than the Epon. The finish is really nice. A combo of satin and chrome. The Yamaha symbol is tastefully placed at the back toe. Lettering is small and quite elegant. A nice combo of gold, white and black. All in all class all the way. I haven't hit these outdoors, but did so today into the net. I don't prefer the S200 shafts, so I will likely change them. I may test the KB Tour shafts. Feel is very solid. I think the S200s feel harsh having played the Black Golds all last year. I like the softer tip of the BGs. The club head really frames the ball well. I think the taller toe, square toe does this. Having switched back and forth with the Epons, I can really tell the offset difference. After a while, the Epons looked like they had too much offset. I will try to hit these outdoors tomorrow and report back. Initial reviews are stellar. Maybe Chris can dig some more up.

+TourSpecGolfer
Thats It! I'm keeping the last set! The shape of the face and the top line view sold me. Soon they will be married to some I-10's. Thank you for posting the pics B! Someone asked the difference between the Srixon 701's vs These, and I always mention to everyone that no two Endo irons feel alike. Endo has a huge selection of materials, options and manufacturing methods all with different costs associated. Most golfers can understand this by hitting a bunch of them side by side. Feel depends on many different things and there are endless variables.
