When I hit both side by side here are a few things i noticed:

- The AF101 is about 5 yards longer.

- The AF101 has the same awesome feel but you must hit it on the screws to get it while the 460 ZR has the metallic sponge feel in a bigger radius around the sweet spot.

- The AF101 has a smaller and more pleasing appearance from above.

- forgiveness is about the same with a slight edge to the AF101.

- The 460 ZR inspires more confidence based on its larger look.

i love the sound. when you hit it solid the sound is very muted. crisp thud is best i can describe it although it may differ to others as we have our own unique perceptions on sound and feel.

one thing i know is that it is worlds apart from the sound of the EMB

think i might give an af101 a go with the new gd9003 shaft, and if i dont get along with the shaft a fubuki proto will be going in there

I would have to agree... one of the quieter sounding Drivers... when hit flush their is not much of a sound.. a dull quiet thud best describes it. (IMO)

Aaaahhhhh but the feel.... Fantastic!!!!

The EMB on the other hand... KA-TANK!!!! It might scare you if you're not expecting the

loudness... still, excellent feel, excellent performance.

I had a couple of fellows (senior, higher handicap players) hit this driver a couple of days ago during a round we were playing.... they couldn't believe the distance, the right down the middle of this driver.

EPON RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually... come to think of it... I hate EPON...

Every time I am extremely happy and satisfied with my bag they come out with a new product that is better than the ones that I have!!!!

I have a feeling it is going to be a while before they come out with anything that is better than what they are currently offering at this moment.

My 208KGX wedges should be here shortly...

Okay... I love EPON...

Imagine.. the FINEST FORGING PLANT IN THE WORLD having their in House Golf Shop custom making your clubs to your specs...

The AF101 is much better looking and definitely going to make me switch over.

G, I have the P9003x in my 3 wood right now. I've only been able to hit into my net at home as I had been laid up with a rib injury the last few weeks but initial feelings tell me this shaft is definitely a winner. I will give everyone a full report just as soon as I can get some real quality time with it both on the range and in the course. Just need a couple more weeks.

Would love to hear your thoughtson the GD when you have had more time with it. I have been a die hard fujikura fan since I made the switch from steel to graphite in woods/drivers.

Its nice to see the amount of shaft options for the EPON's and I figure the upgrade at only around 1/2 retail isnt too bad if things dont work out with it.

Judging by the specs on your 460ZR mine are gonna be pretty similar(minus the flat part, but I would get one 1.5open)

It ain;t gonna be much. I have both and will measure them tonite and post.

They are indeed very close, based on design I think the 460 is a touch taller because of it's curved shape topline. But the AF-101 has the larger sweetspot because it does not use an insert face like the 460.

I've had two side by side range sessions with the ZR and AF 101 both 9.5 so far and the AF101 hits slightly lower and is definitely NOT as forgiving as the ZR despite the supposed larger sweet spot. Both had Roddios in them, one a 6wba and the Af101 a 5wba (yes I know not an actual comparison bt I ain;t shelling out another several hundred for aother 6wba just for demo purposes).

On solid hits, the AF is slightly longer but on a consistent average, both are about the same distance wise.

That's good feedback, thanks. How did you find the feel of the face between the two?

Feel wise which is purely personal, the AF101 feels much more solid and "pro" to me. More "thuddy" like the Titleist drivers of old as opposed to the tin canny sounds of all the new taylormades.

But performance wise, so far there is not much between the ZR and AF101 but both set very high standards which the likes of TMs will struggle to meet IMO. Its just that I'm not sure if the hundreds of bills for an AF 101 over the Zr is worth it. For me anyways.

Well, I have 2 rounds on Thursday and Sunday to decide whether to buy the AF101 or not. Will be trying a Diamana Whiteboard this time round I am very familiar with how that shaft plays in all oy previous drivers, the ZR included.

That's a question I have also....."Feel of the Face"?

I believe Chris' description of a metallic sponge feel on the 460ZR is a good one. I prefer a "crisper" feel....if the AF 101 has that crisper feel, I may be upgrading soon.

On the launch monitor a I get a more piercing trajectory a couple yards more carry on average but an outstanding 5 - 10yds more roll!

As far as feel goes, ZR feels more metallic sponge over a larger area while the 101 is more muted metallic but when hit on the screws or near It has that soft metallic sponge we all like.
