TSG was able to get its hands on 4 of 700 of the sets made of the Yamaha Tour Limited Forged Irons.

Of the posters on this board only myself and BogeyDog have them.

Better pics than mine! What are your thoughts now that you have them?

One of the best looking irons I have seen. Endo doesn't produce many sets with this little offset so its a pure pleasure to see this. nice and short heel to toe yet when i do the nail tap test they feel like they are gonna be soft. I have not hit them yet as I am short on I-10's gotta get more but I don't think I will in time before leaving to Tokyo.

I would have sold these but they look to darn good and they are too rare to give up. These irons, the Yururi Prototype blade, and the Miura MB5003's are my top choices right now.

Gonna give each of them some course time tomorrow I hope.

Those are beautiful.

Chris, while you're at the show, you've got to convince them to re-release these and produce more sets.

Hi Chris!

I understand now why you kept the last set. If I had seen these photos, that set would have been gone!

Did you take any photos of the regular X Vs?

Can't wait to read the feedback and impressions.

I also have a set of regular V's arriving today. If someone wants them, let me know.

Do those ever look good, could this be the long awaited follow-up and successor to the mr-23 us spec (cb's); different company of course, but same forging foundary.

Thats what I was thinking when I first saw them, short heel to toe like the MR23's with about the same amount of offset. I must get a round in with these before I go.

  • 2 weeks later...

Went out today with my Yamaha Tour 8I reshafted with the new KB Tour stiif, softstepped once. I play 1/2" under standard (US) in length. I have a 96mph driver SS and usually play Black Golf S shaft.

It was a surprise.

Feel - Butt stiff, moderate soft tip. More Black Gold-like then I expected, but slightly firmer or more solid. Bend profile was nice. Seemed well balance. My guess is the counterbalancing properties led to this.

Performance - Here it shined. Ball flight was higher than I expected. I would classify it as high, but it didn't balloon. Distance was superb. For me ball flight was straight to a draw. Seems easier to turnover than the BG. I would say 1/2-3/4 club longer for me. Hard swings didn't over come the shaft. Feel was very smooth but not mushy, performance top notch.

Overall, I am surprised as many are with these. The shaft really played well in the Yamaha heads. The Yamahas have a higher center of gravity and the KB Shafts just seemed to give back some launch. Remember the Yamaha's have S200s stock. I hate the stock shafts. I softstepped the S to take the edge off and see how they played next to the BG. I am ordering the rest to install soon.
