shoeman
The stock shafts for the af101,the 5350 Mach Line & the 7080 Mach Line. Are they good match for the af101. What has shafts has anyone ordered & the driver length???
Goodsie
From all reports, the Mach Line shaft is a great match for the AF-101. Epon's strict attention to detail insured that the Mach Line shafts worked well with the AF-101. My AF-101 (9.5* Square) has the Diamana Whiteboard 73S shaft installed. It measures 45.5 inches and is a D4.5 swingweight, right where I wanted it, again Epon's attention to detail made sure of that. Even with the low RPM properties of the Whiteboard, the AF-101 head still gives me the ability to work the ball left, right, high or low. This Driver is a Cannon and gives me great feel and feedback. My confidence from the tee is at an all time high with the AF-101. Goodsie

xchangmanx
T sounds like your search is over and you may have finally found your gamer for this season!T Yeah T, change from the rombax w/the technity stiff to the GD MD7 x-stiff has been more positive yrds for me. the ball speed off this driver is amazing. I'm a good 10 yrds longerw/this guy than my 445 on average. I really think the shaft selection paid off, the kick and feel is just fantastic. Not to mention had couple of my friends hit the AF101 they are now seriously looking at Epon. They said it sounded like a gun w/a silencer on it, and it didn't appeal to them. Lol after they hit the club, it was another story... o_O Anyways long story short, I did miss hit alot, due prolly to the shaft change,(I went w/a 45.25" and I usually swing a 44.75) the insteresing thing is the distance loss was minimal. Usually w/my GR or burner, toe and heal hits would leave me a good 20 or more yrds short of my target or even worse way left. W/the AF101s miss hits were actually carrying 20 yrds where I normally come up short. My burner w/a UST never got me 272 carry on a toe hit. I don't want to sound like an over excited club ho, w/a new toy; but I have to say this is one incredible feeling driver, w/the length and forgivness of what would be expected for a 15capper driver. The AF101 will be in my bag for a decent amount of time. Which has left me telling my friends something I rarely say, "I am completely satisfied w/this club and prolly won't buy another driver for a while." Moreover, if epon comes out w/another version driver next year w/added enchancements, I'll prolly endup buying that too. =) Tks to TSG for providing us locals w/an easy way to attain clubs and brands like epon, tour AD, NGS etc; which I believe has brought my game to new levels. Blader-X
As soon as the taxman delivers my little bundle of joy, I'm definitely going to be the AF101 with the Graphite Design P9003X. I'm loving this shaft in the 3 wood and want to see it in a driver. Its going to be very difficult to kick out my current setup, the old 460ZR with the TourSpec Proto. That combo is still working very well. I've yet to post a review for you all on the P9003X but I haven't forgotton. My son's travel hockey season is finally over so I'll have some free time to back at it. Golf unfortunately has been very limited the past couple months. +TourSpecGolfer
Mach Line 7080 stock in stiff works well for me. But the reviews people are giving this driver attached to the MD series by Tour AD are making me want to switch.

I've yet to try that shaft, but to combine the characteristics of two great Graphite Design offerings, the PT and QT, the new MD has got to be a simply awesome shaft. gosoojj
MD 7 is the bomb!!! got mine in xstiff and found +yards on all my drives. The kick and feel is out of this world. I'm considering to purchase AF101 with MD7. How about 3-wood? Should I consider MD8? My ss is 105-108. I used to play Speeder 757 on 3-wood and I played awesome, better than current GD QT65. I think it's because of light weight. Any suggestions?

Never tried the MD series in the 3wood, so I can't say for sure. Fuji is pretty good in the woods... I still got my r580 w/speeder 757.... =)

xchangmanx
I am considering that shaft, at that flex, what is your SS? I'm normally 105-106, but over the past 6 months I've been going up to 110 -113. The xflex feels pretty solid.

driverhead
Okay, I have last years TECHNITY, EMB, CALLAWAY LEGACY, and received the new EPON AF101 this week. I went with a square face angle 10.5 and the Machline 5350 stiff at 46 inches. Im going to say this straight out. This is the best driver Ive ever hit in my life. It retains the same smooth trampoline off the face as the Technity, but the ball speed is incredible. The trajectory is also stronger than the Technity, and has a nice shallow angle of descent. I got the perfect ballflight for me. A nice flat penetrating draw that carried a ton, and rolled out even on swamp grass after landing. The Machline shaft was a pleasant surprise. Very smooth and a cross between the Diamana red and blue 63 with a strong ballflight. This club is almost as forgiving as the EMB and L4V, but by far its the most forgiving on less than perfect hits for distance. My worse miss has been a slightly over draw into the left rough. 2 rounds in I havent hit anything close to a bad tee shot. I dont think Ive ever had more confidence in a driver that gives me the best combination of distance and control. Im playing in mid 40 degree temps and hitting summer distance. I hit maybe the longest drive in a crosswind I ever hit yesterday , 284 with the skycaddie. Today the magic continued, and I cant wait until real spring temps come our way as this club will provide a rush that a club junkie like me dreams about. xchangmanx
My ave ballspeed has gone up from 159 to 161 and and I managed to achieve my fastest ball speed; 165 w/the MD7. Ball velocity is just amazing, mid high traj. pierces the ball through the headwind no problem, and the ball seems to just keep accelerating until its peak. If its not the positive results, its the fun factor I love when playing this driver.

Yep its awesome with a capitol A. Put the MD 6 shafted 10.5 square AF101 In play today. The MD 6 shaft is so smooth, yet very tight. I felt when swinging it, like is was loading in uniform working in one piece. I got a great mid flat trajectory that carried a ton, lower than the machline 5350 shafted AF101. Both setups will come in to play this year. I can see the Machline AF101 in use during the cooler months and the MD 6 AF101 in prime golfing season. Another shaft I would recommend to those who like the stock EMB shaft. A Bassara UL 53. That is a smooth shaft that really loads, and sets up a high carry.
