Could someone please help me with a hybrid shaft weight question

Featured Replies

I just bought two adams idea pro gold hybrids and I was wondering what weight of shaft i should install in them. My irons have 133 gram shafts in them and the adams hybrids are more of an iron-like hybrid than a wood-like hybrid so i thought matching the weights would be the way to go...

Is this a wise thing to do or is a 133 gram shaft in a hybrid of any kind too heavy?

Thanks.

You have a very fast swing speed with a rather quick tempo so I think heavier graphite and steel are both options for you. What are they shafted with now and what happened when you hit it? Ozik, Diamana, and many others produce fine graphite hybrid shafts.

I just bought them with the factory mitsubishi javelin FX shaft that comes with them. If i were to put in graphite i'm going with a Matrix Ozik HM2 shaft.

I had a graphite design UT-95 in my old bridgstone hybrid and it was a fantastic shaft. Reason i want something different is for even more control....... that's why i'm thinking steel. I just don't know if a 130 gram shaft in a hybrid, even if it's more of a iron shaped hybrid like the Adams is too heavy or not......

Mjr. D,

Consider a KBS Hybrid Shaft. It is steel and in the 130gm range with very low dispersion and great feel. I am experiencing great feedback from the guys who have used this shaft in their Hybrids. I, myself, have a KBS Hybrid shaft in a Nickent 24* but, unfortunately, haven't had the spare time to put it thru a test run. Shame on me, Huh!!

Goodsie

Go with an Epon 901 with the same steel shaft as you use in your regular irons. Easy :atsg_smilie_gd:
