Quadra Composite Techno Shafts

Over at TSG we have been contemplating carrying Quadra Composite Techno or more frequently referred to as Quadra in Japan for some time now.

For those of you who do not know Quadra, they are a very high end graphite and carbon shaft maker who have long been involved in the golf shaft and carbon sheets business.

Quadra as you can tell by their name, means 4 and they were the first brand to create the quad axis weave used in many shafts from many different brands today including Axiv, Honma and Graphite Design today.

They produce such high quality carbon that they actually supply carbon sheets to some of the top brands including Honma's ARMRQ which also feature the 4 axis weave in their shafts.

Quadra has spent the last few years growing and developing their own shaft line and what many people outside of Japan may not know is that Quadra is actually frequently in the top 4 brands in sales in Japan battling the likes of Graphite Design, Mitsubishi and Fujikura.

TSG will start by carrying their all new Fire Express model. A full carbon sheet 80t shaft (80t is the highest grade of carbon/graphite available on the retail market anywhere). The Fire Express uses 2 sections of 4 axis weave using high elastic 80t carbon sheets utilizing nano technology to create a low spin super stable shaft with little to no twisting and perfect return at impact. The higher the quality carbon the tighter the dispersion due to its consistent rebound and flex. Higher grade carbon also contains more glass materials rather than rubber also contributing to the quality and the feel of this strong shaft. The Fire Express is for the better player who wants low spin creating maximum carry paired with tight dispersion and control.

Now the best part, the price. While most shafts with 50t or higher grade carbon can cost even up to 1000.00 and over. Quadra is able to keep costs lower since they are the producers of these high end carbon sheets in the first place. MSRP on these 80t shafts is 600.00 each. TSG will have them for 459.00 in the pro shop which is amazng for 80t. They just launched and Quadra has already told me they are back ordered cause of demand!

Hi T & Chris,

Have either of you heard much about or tested the Quadra 'Pro Spec' and 'Red Tour?' I was 'trying' to chat with someone about them during my last trip, but didn't really catch the difference between the two, and the specs look very similar on paper.

Would both the Pro and Red Tour be low spin models like the Express?

I would like to know as well, likely to get a Quadra to try in my Epon 101 IP. Theres a new young pro down here, a big unit that pounds it, using Quadra, but not the Fire Express. Can the TSG experts compare other Quadra shafts with the Fire Express, specs and performance characteristics please.

just put the quadra fire 65 x/s in my diablo 8.5* tour head...and took it out on sun to great island. ( i was playing 2 drivers the other being the yonex nanoV with kaiali 65 s in it ). played back nine first with the quadra , my choice very wise, very responsive shaft can feel the ball on the head extremely well, tried a variety of drives from high draws to low fades and the confidence i had to hit those shots was enormous. and when the execution was good boy did it travel , i didnt feel the club leaking and it never turned over uncontrollably, the only miss hit drive went dead straight albeit 2 feet off the ground but the run i got on the ball made up for the miss hit. my thoughts after the nine were this is the best set up ive used and the shaft was superb. (i took a tour ad ev6 out to put this one in) and made a big difference.

back nine, took the yonex out for first hit with the kai'ali 65 s in it . the yonex is my regular day to day driver it had the tour ad ev6 in it as well. replaced by the kai ali. BIG difference. the kai ali i cud move both ways but it didnt seem as long as the quadra. (with the tour ad ev6 i had lots of trouble drawing the ball not so with the kai ali. ) but the kaiali was def not as responsive as the quadra , when i went hard at a cpl the difference really shone thru the quadra was much better and much more controlled . i liked the kai ali a lot. more than the tour ads' but the quadra was a long ways ahead of all of them im. im going to change the quadra over to the yonex and put the kai ali i n the diablo to get more distance in the yonex. they are not cheap but boy they are worth it. cudnt recomend quarda any stronger, sensational shaft.

The Quadra Fire Express is gaining rave reviews and more interest in Japan especially now that Shigeki Maruyama has put them in his driver and fairway woods!

The reason why this Quadra stands above other shafts is the material 80t. Very responsive and full of feel and simply kicks and whips back to original shape faster and more accurately than other carbon shafts.
