Yeah, let us know when they get there. Just read an article about how conforming grooves increase the launch angle and I want to know how the 47* PW works for you - well all the irons actually. I'm playing i3 blades bent weak right now (48* PW). Anyway, no update? I'm still considering a set... maybe I can try those Nippon shafts after you pull them. I have a set of MP-14's begging for play again and I'd probably just stick with the stock 1050 X shafts.

During my driver test session today I got my hands on the new TP albeit with Tour-AD Proto Graphite shaft in stiff flex.

I had about 15 minutes with it indoors (we were using the launch monitor for the drivers).

First of all, this iron is compact and has a very thin topline and very little offset. The R9 is a letdown compared to the Burner TP which very much looks the players iron the R9 (R9 TP in the US) very much wanted to be..

First off let me tell you that I am not a fan of ANY of TM's cast irons. The only irons I have given a thumbs up to are the R7 Forged and 2009 Burner Forged but let me tell you this, these are soft. When pured, they feel forged. I was very impressed. They are not the most forgiving nor are they meant to be.

The Tour AD combo is very nice and very smooth and actually contributes to the soft feel. I actually went away considering bagging these though I know they are too advanced for me... okay I said to much... I am supposed to write in the blog about this...

Here is one pic in the meantime... rest will be in the blog...

PS. These are most likely 0.355" taper... that's at least my guess cause even though they have graphite in them the Tour AD are 0.355"

OK they showed up today and look awesome! Now off to my tech to have the shafts pulled (man I hope they are taper tips!) and have the KBS black's installed (spined and flowed of course). As a footnote, I compared both dark blackish grey finishes (heads and shafts) and they are almost identical, should turn out very sexy baby! I will post many pics when completed. If my concept turns out as planned get ready to load those Paypal accts because these babies should be pretty tempting. In regards to feel, with the soft cast technology (ie. Burner B's) and my techs corking method (for another conversation) these should really be pretty soft; if they aren't (long time forged guy here) trust me I will tell you....BB

I quote myself "I am supposed to write in the blog about this" meaning I have NOT written it YET. (^_^)

Did you get a chance to hit those corked bad boy's out? If so let us know. I am intrigued to hear what you think of these irons, pics would be nice as well.

BB,

Did you say you were in Ohio??? If so, where? I'm just outside of Dayton. I just got a set of the '09 Forged TP's and they are incredible. If they don't work out, The Burner TP softs are next on the radar. Let me know.
