Mjr. D
Feeling interested in one of these 80T carbon shafts. I don't know much about them. Anyone have any experience with either of these brands? I have the whiteboard, Rombax Z, GD P9003, Oban Devotion, Matrix Ozik F7M2 LTD/8M2, Motore F1, etc.... all low spinning, low launching for the most part. Would love if anyone has any feedback on these 80T shafts. Thanks!
vertigo88
Actually, my shaft profiles are similar to yours Mr. D, low launch and low spin. I would be interested in spin and launch profiles what quadra and crazy do too.
supo
Actually, my shaft profiles are similar to yours Mr. D, low launch and low spin. I would be interested in spin and launch profiles what quadra and crazy do too. quadra has a low launch to start then has an uplift in the mid ofthe flight to a medium heighted flight, then at the apex it tials over to get small/med roll. the majority of the distance like 80-90% is carry. but def not high. very very very straight trajectory . im talikng hitting into and accross wind, nothing better ive hit. long too can go as hard as u like without fear of ballooning. best feeling shaft by a mile (fire express 65sx) worth the cost. +TourSpecGolfer
Maybe Gocchin can chime in, he has a lot of experience and knowledge with the Crazy & Quadra shaft profiles.
jamnguy1
I have the Crazy TJ-46, LY-01, LY-02 and Quadra shafts. I've been slowly experimenting. So far I've only shafted the LY-02 and TJ-46. At first, I really liked the LY-02 over the TJ-46 but the TJ-46 has slowly won me over. Both have similar characteristics, but the TJ-46 has a little better feel and I've found it to be slightly more consistent for my swing. The LY-02 seems to have more kick to it compared to the TJ-46. This week I'm shafting the LY-01 and Quadra. First impressions on the range and impression after several good rounds can vary. Once I get the Quadra shafted, I will try to give a comparison. gocchin
I actually replied Rob a few weeks ago as Rob emailed me the same questions but I can post here too. Both Crazy and Quadra make great shafts. Top notch carbon and performance. The Quadra Fire Express play about half to a full flex softer than the Crazy depending on which model we are comparing it to. Both are rather low spin however the Quadra will launch a little lower. Technically no Crazy shaft has a LOW launch profile, they are all mid to high launch which is why they create lots of carry and roll out. The Longest Yard and CB80 shafts possess more feel than the Quadra's but the CB50 probably has similar or slightly less feel as it is geared towards balanced control while you can almost say the LY and CB80 are pure distance shafts. The CB50 is probably the most like the Quadra when it comes to performance and trajectory but it is considerably stiffer. I am playing Crazy shafts in my Driver and 7 wood and Utility now and they are the best I have played distance and control wise. I think i will put a Quadra in the Spoon so I can have the best of both since the Spoon launches high which will balance with the Quadra's lower launch. If you drop down in length to say 45" the swing weight would be too low with that head. I'd suggest going with the superfast if you like it, I wouldn't call it a waste if it performs for you. I'd keep the length up over 45.5" as that's where the Roddio shines.
