supo
gents, after testing a rogue af-tour 7-iron on a range yesterday before a match . i think, ( no thats incorrect ,) im DEFINATLY going to lift a set of epons. , i love the look of the 302, ive had my eye on these for a long time so i think its going to have to be a combo set. ..., like 4-5-6-7 in the 302, and 7-8-9-pw in the af-tour . ( rotate the 7 iron.) i was blown away by the quality of this club yesterday. i gamed the miura cb1006 and i love this set. but...., the differnce was extremely noticable, the miuras are a lot more solid at impact .(i guess this is a good description) than the epons, which are a much softer feeling iorn. and it would appear i love softer clubs. has anyone done this combo style ? also ive tried lots of shafts, kbs feel very stiff and heavy, the ns pro 1050 ive got in most of my clubs, with but the ones i used yesteday were dg s300 which.. seemed perfect any thoughts???????? gocchin
Some people have gone with overlapping 7 irons or in most cases they have gone with a fixed set ie 5 6 7 302 and 8 9 PW AF Tour and weakened the lofts 1* on the AF-302 and strengthened the lofts 1* on the AF-Tour to fill the gap. An awesome combo set.

(now ive got 3 sets , 1 is going str8 back to oz , the others are sitting here with me. what planet am i on!) i hit the 302 last night at the range. NOW i see what u guys been talking about , the veil has been lifted. they came with a lovely set of dark blue iomic grips on them . just magnificent. i have a question tho , i was going to pull a set of kbs tours and put them in the af-tour heads i bought form here. . i think the standard shaft they come with is a the dgs300 which i have a set of as well and like. but i really want to put the KBS set in them i hit the 302 with the ns pro 950 gh s and they worked brilliantly, loved them i n these heads! any pros/ cons for KBS , anyone using the kbs set up, bec thats what im leaning towards ?? +TourSpecGolfer
The KBS are awesome shafts. It's one of my favorite aftermarket shafts in steel. Combo that with 302's and you have got a winner!
rjw
I have a combo set of 302/502 with KBS shafts and they feel like they were specifically designed for the Epons. I am sure other shafts feel as good but the Epon/KBS set up it really nice.
