+TourSpecGolfer
I'm sure you already know this stuff but let me go over it again. The 703 Limited driver like the limited irons are designed to be a players driver that gets the ball up quickly with no balloon. It's got a super low Center of Gravity when compared to other players drivers. TourStage says the crown is the thinnest ever at 0.3mm. It's 435cc's Seven piece structure with a forged CUP face for feel and behind the crown they added a chemical milled processed design to strengthen such a thin area for hard hitters and pro's. supo
i can add a cpl of deets tp this topic now bec............. i pulled the trigeur , i have one. im playing on sat ill post a cpl of piccys of it, its awsome looking! 9.5* with a fubuki alpha 70x and a white golf pride sticky grip. all in all, its in the final for "the most lovely looking club" ever. 45.25 x 323 x d3 i used to own the 703 and i didnt mind it ,i used it solidly for 2 weeks back home played 10 rounds with it. the only thing i found was it was a little clumpish, not realy pear, not really round , it was nice and soild but was more for just propelling balls forward than moving them about willy nilly. distance was good ,feel was good, but juts looked a littel bit cumbersome for my taste. didnt realy "get me" the limited tho . as soon as u pick it up looks fantastic , smaller pear shaped , like its made for driving. big range sesshy last night with it on the new improved ( finally working) sega swing system installed at the DR so u can watch every shot in slow mo, 1/4 speed 1/8 speed or real time, 2 views back, front. and a swing speed monitor. i was averaging 47.6 m/s with a range of 45 - 49.8 the limited delivers a low piercing really long shot. it took me a few balls to get used to the shape and the feel., the first cpl went skyrocketing high and right with terrible swings. then i chocked down a bit on it turned a cpl over and got it wired. resulting in really long running shots ,the ball didnt go str8 up , it didnt balloon. it went pretty darn straight with a slight tail off at the end. i was imagining i was at NSW in the wind, and played the course a cpl of times , this is what this club is perfect for, splitting tight fairways and gettign a mile of role. and hitting bleow the puff . i tried a few high bombs but still found it to go a lot lower than what iwas trying to achieve. i m taking it out on sat to play so ill have a much better understanding with real balls in real conditions. but im really liking what i have here, its DEFINATLY for the good consistant driver who can control the ball well. the feel is superb, the weight suits perfectly and its custom made for windy days and bad conditions, i will say tho, NOTHING tops the epon 101, diamana 70x stinger combo yet. .......................... supo
Hey do you think the diamana stinger makes the difference or do you rate the 101 head better than the 703? the epon head is the better head in my view , i like the shape , the feel and the concealment of 460 ccs. the stinger is def a factor its so tight and non side biased which i prefer. , together they are incredible. as for feel , i actually like the yamaha better than the 703. but i love the look of the TS ltd and i want it for specific purpose. supo
ok here it is.........., 2 lots of 9 holes with this on differnt style course over the weekend.played 18 holes with this and 9 with the epon -stinger 70x and 9 with the p-tune/ stinger 60 s. sat was short tight, lots of high elevated tee boxes shooting down to fairway kinda thing, mountian golf. and sun was chk-chk KAboooooooooooom! perfect for what i wanted to test this on apart form hitting into strong wind . firstly its long! i was a little taken aback. ididnt expect such distance, i thought it would be for more control than distance but not at all.trajectory was superb, low to mid low and ooooodles of roll. same as the range with those awful balls. the misses i hit were mosnter high slices , compared to small high slices wit htother drivers. and that was exaserbated by the shaft for sure. its definatly not the best driver to miss- hit thats for sure. the result of a bad drive with this is catastophic. much worse than most other drivers i have. but when i connected well. it was fantastic. very very hard to turn over so most good shots were straight with a tiny fade at the tail. split a lot of fairways and got a mile of roll. the fubuki worked pretty nicely, but im considering a differnt shaft in it, my quadra 75 sx is firmly in my sights. . just to soften the flex a tiny-touch without loosing that low piercing shot . dont get me wrong..., the fubuki is very very good . but i tink i can put that to good use elsewhere. i was hitting this in conjucntion with epon-stinger on sat. and the stinger felt better..., but not muh feels / performs better than the stinger tho , ( its an $800 shaft agaisnt a $ 400 one. so its not really fair.) the distacne differnce between the two wasnt really noticeable. but for sure the epon felt better. and the miss shots it has a tighter dispersion, but that might change agn after changing to the qaudra. overall for looks and prefomance this is a great driver, and if u actually like the pear shape u will LOVE this. not surprising tho with tourstage. top of the top. 9./10 hows that ? You cant go wrong with the Fire Express best shaft i have ever played, which head would you say launches the highest V201, 703 Limited or the 101?
