supo
ok, im at my club builders a cpl of weeks ago, gettign club no 1,234,5454,789 rejigged for no aparent reason........, . and he s say stewart-san ive been keeping one of these for u . pls try it . i go, ok, what is it? its a p-tune made by japans no2 culb designer. . Matsuo -san (no2 ?, yes im assured its true.) hes has been working for Dunlop as the lead developer for eoans, and recenty he branched out to go it alone and desigend his own range with a co. called pigeon golf. they gave him scope to do whatever he wanted. and hes come up with a new weight distribution system thast the first of its kind in the world................, interchangeable dispersion on the sole of the club and channels leading to each weight. the face is rounded with a yamaha V series look to it. and the body is a compact 440 cc head that reminds me of the new onoff 2010 or a smaller srixon ztx, thats a kinda rounded shape. At address it sets up square and just seems to suit the eye nicely. impact. heres the very interesting thing. i ve been secretley using this a for a few weeks to guage what it is i cant put my finger on. now i think i know. its definalty a combo of the shaft and the chanel design that give it its unique feel. it doent feel hollow, it sounds hollow but the impact is like that tour edge exotocs cb range. nothing but solid non compression impact, the ball flies off this face. there was a test in one of the mags earlier this yr puting this up agst all the JDM competitors and it came in 2nd over all or distance for guys who drive under 270- ,, under 290 - over 300.., the winner was the srixon (but not the ztx ) an older model. maybe chris or tario cud track this down bec we werre quite surprised. this has attraacted a cult following in japan with the older guys esp, they Love it. NEVER seen one in any bin, or store, the only one ive ever seen one on auction site a sold after 2 days at the buy now price which was really toppy. mines shafted with a diamana stinger 60s (of course!) palys 318 x 45 x d2 and dispersion is seriously tight the length is long! and i can change the weight distribution to draw neutral or fade bias in heatbeat with the screwdriver accompanied. right now ive got it to slight draw bias and loving it. gamed ift for a few of 9 holes in conjunction with the epon and it looses nothing! i can smash this with confidence and the results have been very very good. not sure why i havnt palyed a full game with it, porb bec the epon is sitting rigght next to it and i juts cant keep my mitts of tis puppy. it s really exxy sits aside the epon 102 at the same price i hanvt got the language skills to work out the materails and really techy things (pssssssssss st T and C thast where YOU can come in on this....!) no photos of my beauty now i l do that tonight but heres a snipet of what im t alking about Edited September 14, 2010 by supo67

+TourSpecGolfer
I'm personally not so big on Baldo, Would you guy's like to see it in the proshop? I do know they are not produced in Japan. We received some samples the quality wasn't there in terms of paint and finish and it took forever to ship out. Kinda risky offering it to our customers, They do offer interesting Drivers, FW's, and Wedges. With P-Tune, It's made much better than Baldo but when I compare to Epon, TourStage, Srixon, PRGR it's years behind. No chem milling, no variable face thickness, It's all about sole design and shape. Just my 2 cents but there are brands that are made by the best factories and use the best technology, those are the guy's who have big time scientific R&D to experiment with new things. Then there are those who create niche brands based off of brand image and marketing. Yes it's original design but limited by budget and research. Spending 800 bucks on a driver I usually suggest the company that has the backing and new tech behind it. Whatever the case P-Tune & Baldo are both smaller up and coming brands that have been gaining momentum over the last year. TSG can get it and would love to add it to the pro shop if there is interest in them.
gocchin
I'm the one who received the Baldo sample it was cheap looking. They may have improved it as that time they were rather new, but the finish was not good at all and did not reflect the price of that driver. The P-Tune has been very popular here in Japan and has a small underground following from those who like Pigeon Golf. It's considered an Otaku golf brand for those crazy about golf and unknown brands. The owner himself is golf crazy and loves golf so much... which bodes well for the heads designs. I should ask for a sample perhaps to try. T
