supo
Leopold GX-3 or 4. Don't believe the 4 is legal for tournaments tho. thats not gonna be a problem, not going to be entering any open chaps this life time, leaving that little job to one of the little supo 67s to do hopefully. i just saw a blurb on the bushnells 1600, u can use that one.! oh my another toy, this is just the best game! Stuie iv been using the Bushnell 1600 for 6 months now previously had the sure shot gps and the bushnell is unbelievable with the pinseaker gives you exact distances to the pin plus scan mode to pick up how far to hazards, trees, etc but the best think is no running out of battery coz you forgot to charge it the night B4, the bushnell should last around 1 year B4 you need to change the batterys. Dont get the V2 Pinseeker POS compared to the 1600 and the slope edition is illegal even in local club competition, well in Aus it is anyway not sure about japan. I got mine cheap on Ebay cost was $350 aud delivered.
Duffer19
Since you are in Japan, why not just get the Nikon with quality built lens. I have the 350 which was cheaper than the Bushnell and just as fast in fixing on target with its own pin seeking technology. When it comes to optics, it would be either Japanese or German. If you opt for German optics then get the super sleek Leica Range Finder.

Spoon
well i finally got one. have put this purchase on the sidelines for years, this is one tool that can seriously take advantage of in practice, most especially since all my current irons are bladed traditional lofts. have to get used to the new yardages. just picked up a leupold gx4. who uses a rangefinder and has it helped with your game? I couldnt play without one now, speeds up play to........no trying to find yardages on sprinklers and then paceing out to the ball, just point and shoot
supo
i got the bushnell 1600 its bloody quick, give a great reading battery life is great. optics, well superb. the battery cover keeps coming loose and ive lost a battery , which pissssed me off extremely. i love it tho, but ill send this back and get another one. it certianly does speed up play, and makes distances in between targets superb to get ur mind on the job. , the bst thing i love is i get a reading from say a bunker to the pin . so i go ok need to carry 142yards, and hit below 162 where the pin is, it makes club choice so much easier. how did play without one? Eca
I also use the bushell 1600 Tounament Edition. Awesome capabilities as Bill mentioned. I bought the mgi navigator g800 buggy which got gps & it's not even used. Not when you can scan just about anything in your path. Also great to know actual distances you ate hitting especially irons. No problem with battery door for me.

I have been using the Nikon 350 for the past 2 years now and no issue whatsoever. I find the bushnell V2 to be no better or faster and cost much more. Most club comps would allow range finder now but probably one with slope.

zwan
I'm using the Leupold GX 4 and must admit that it's really great. No issues at all not like supo with the Bushnell 1600. Easy to use and very accurate on distance to any target on the course. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a light and accurate device, plus it's really well protected even if you let it fall down by mistake. A++ By the way. With the chomeplate attached you can use it as a simple distance pinhunter, leagal in tournaments.
