Spoon
ok guys being sidelined from golf indefintely decided to make the most of my idle time by having my shinagawa anser putter tricked out by sasaya-san. this putter is very memorable to me as it was given to my dad as a gift. his name is engraved on the sole in script font. i want to keep the putter as original as possible. was thinking of a blinker but that would ruin the putter as a area of the flange would need to be cut. what i am thinking is: current putter specs are 350 gram, lie was 69.5 at 33.5 but will play it at 35". unsure about loft maybe 4* 1. clean out the dings. this will entail some sanding and buffing (reduction in weight) 2. have the face re-milled with the premium zone style face not the insert (reduction in overall weight) 3. have it refinished. i am clueless on the finishing options for a sus303 putter. 4. having the putter re-balanced, need the sweetspot at the center. 5. because of the work done overall weight will be reduced so may have to add tungsten inserts. will get em in the face. 6. a G circle on the cavity open to your suggestions guys. obviously im bored so help me out:)

idrive
Generally speaking.... Basic rule of thumb, 33" = 350 g head 35" = 330g head Playing the club longer will more than offset any weight reduction. Me, I like the heavier Putter weight. What I could come up with to have done to that Putter..... :) IMO the best finish is the dark (smoke) chrome.

What I could come up with to have done to that Putter..... :) IMO the best finish is the dark (smoke) chrome. when i played this at 33 i actually had the weight at 370g. i like my sw to be in the e4/e5 region so even at 35 i would like to retain the 350g sw. J, i know you had the premium zone milling, how is it compared to a regular faced putter? is the roll significantly improved? as for the finish, i think my options are not as extensive as a carbon putter. idrive
I am a huge fan and believer in the pzmilling. I really believe it helps get the ball rolling better. Not sure what finish options you have. I have become a dark, non reflective finish guy for the Putter. Nothing worse than a bright reflection from the Putter. My gamer is the teflon black. The Master would have no problem dialing a desired finish weight.
idrive
My Gamer for 4 years now. I play a lot. Finish is holding up well. I can't believe it's still in the bag with no desire to change it.

I can't believe it's still in the bag with no desire to change it. thats a beautiful putter. is that your only gold's putter? i recall your old one being in silver or something. unless you had it refinished? will defintely get the pz milling but not the insert. il go el cheapo pz face milling route:) thanks jeff! cant believe that putter is 4 years old feels like yesterday that you were getting it done

+TourSpecGolfer
I would go flat silver finish with a polished sole, maybe a tiny non circle G in the cavity turned at an angle and something sentimental in the cavity. PZ milling across the face, a couple tungsten weights in the face. If it needs balancing one big one small. complicated paintfill, sasaya can do a sort of gradient look as well. matching muziik grip. Shambles
Spoon, I'd be very intersted in how the COG will be moved to the center. Seems to me you would be bending the hosel or adding a ton of weight but in both cases you might end up with a change in the toe swing. Please take a ton of before and after pictures. idrive
C Should have a toe hang... around 4-4:30 when shafted. When they put the long neck on them, they are face bal. (shafted) This could actually be a whole new Putter customization option......... yours might be the first answer style Putter to be weighted face balanced this way. J, i actually dont know what to do, from the pics i posted i want the sweet spot in the center. from the pics it is not. i dont knw how the master will do this but i am sure he can find a way with peripheral weighting. and that face balanced thing is very interesting and may consider that option as well, if thats even possible with the current head. il send the putter as soon as things in japan are settled down. skippercarey
i had the i33 putter. was very good but i found it heavy, i think mine weighed almost 370grams. yes they can gun blue it. pz milling non insert would be awesome! yeah its a little on the heavy side but it doesnt bother me keeps the stroke nice and smooth, the only problems i have with it are when the greens are quick in some of the open tornies and club champs etc, but i plan to put the scotty buttonback in play for those rounds

The finish you're considering would look fantastic.........
